Title: Could mining be used for number crunching?
Post by: remotemass on August 03, 2014, 03:12:42 PM
I know the processing power of the network for mining is only good for SHA-256 hashing but please don't say just a plain, no. Let's discuss.
There must be a way of using the network for something more useful...

You could use it to create a rainbow table for double-256 hashes of very specific character groupings.
