Seriously, why the fuck are people still posting without adding any input to the thread.

It's one thing if it's 1-2 days after his bday, but fucking 2+ months? Seriously, jesus fucking christ.

I swear, these people add absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Paid signatures. The more bullshit they post, the more btc they'll get.

Have you even read the thread? Less than half the people (even less) had paid signatures in that thread.
Maybe it is people also trying to add posts on new accounts (i.e. puppets). What you can do about the people with signatures? Report them to their respective payor.

Yeah OP I understand you, mods should have locked that (and similar) thread somewhere along the way.

One troll bumps the thread, then people congrats him without checking when the topic has been created because they are not concentrated enough.

Don't blame ALL that posted in the topic in the last few days.

I have a paid sig too but I only end up posting in 1/4 of the thread I enter into.  1/2 the time I can't understand the jibberish going on, another 1/4 the discussion has ended more or less or I have nothing to say.

The problem is not just with this board - many boards have people who just look at the posts on the last page.  Over on Slickdeals people will literally ask questions on how to do a do even though the OP may spell it out in a step by step process.

The same people can't be bothered to read the first post - they just have to chime in (having a paid sig encourages that unfortunately).  You just can't fix stupid behavior.  The only culling for that is the posting timer - limits the amount of text diarrhea.

Bumping old thread is not breaking a rule itself, though in most cases it may be. FWIW I've seen some pretty golden necrobumbs (especially speculation threads from 2011/2012 are good.)

Maybe those +1/happybirthday -nonsenseposts are indeed due to the advertisement signatures and/or to make the account eligible to join them.

I agree, it's because one trolled bumped the thread. But I tend to glance at the OP before responding to it in the thread.

Posting in off topic doesn't add to your post count or activity last time I checked, so its not a huge deal in this particular instance.

I can. I just posted in there and my post count went up one (I'm sure you can also check this way too lol), though its a bit weird a mod wouldn't be sure of this.

I see no reason not counting any post count as valid there. They can voice out their opinions on other things too, they can contribute constructive post and discuss about things other than Bitcoin. I don't see any reason not counting the post count since there are still people who are contributing to the topics there.

Wanna hear something awesome? When I made that post, I wasn't part of a signature campaign. I actually joined the campaign aftewards.

Also, it was a rather funny joke rather than a meaningless "Oh, happy birthday" after 2 months.

Ah, that must have been it. I could have sworn the reason why the counting threads were allowed in off topic, was because it didn't count toward post count. My bad.

Which doesn't get them far in the end as long as the paid signature operators look through the posts.

Can we please make off-topic post count / activity just not count? I mean, seriously. That'd be great. It'd get rid of all the jackasses that are only posting for the sake of their signature campaigns and farming activity.

Also, it means we can have more 'spammy' posts / more games without worrying about it getting deleted for spam.

Badbear has suggested that several times already, but for some unknown reason, it is not accepted...

same thing those newbie want to rise their activity spamming everywhere, so they ca join the adv campaign, it's all about adv now i did the same(but without spamming), i think this whole adv spam will end one day(mod will forbid it i'm sure)

Not that it's a bad idea, but I think we can safely assume signature ad spammers would start shitting in other boards, because they only care about their bottom line — the level of their monthly payouts.

Well, at least if they're posting in other threads, we can report their shit as spam and they get banned. You can't really report posts as "spam" when it's technically on-topic but non-productive.

I don't know, it just is rather annoying to see hundreds of non-productive posts a day. I mean, you shouldn't post just to earn money via your signature campaign. You should post because you're contributing to the conversation or creating entertainment for others.
