Title: They told me bubble
Post by: wobber on August 05, 2014, 08:51:37 AM
It seems the bubbelievers never stop hoping. Here's a graph on tradeview, credit goes to emanace.

https://www.tradingview.com/v/NRS4U5CA/

LE, quote from emanace: "I think Bitcoin is soon going to move into it's next parabolic phase."

What do you think about that? Are we cooking something? Is the rocket being fueled?

We will be around 800$ in 7-10 days, after that a short consolidation before we finally break through!

I am very sure that $800 is indeed very close to us.
It is just a matter of weeks when bears will cry.

Yes there's no reason why the price shouldn't start to rise, bitcoin is undervalued at the moment in my opinion.

Well we can say it really is undervalued when we compare a cost of mining with difficulty.

But well no one knows what is the real value yet :) We can just wait .. perhaps many years will past until we will estimate the true/fair value of 1 Bitcoin.

I think we won't find the real value untill the last bitcoin will be mined, therefore not in our whole life.

To be honest, I've seen a lot of people give up on another bubble, or at least have resigned to it not happening for another 6 months, year, 2 years, etc.

I didn't say it'd be a bubble.

It'll be a slow rise, no bubbles this time.

What is your definition of a "guess"? What about traders that have consistently beaten the market? Are they just "guessing"?

???

All traders are guessing. They already know when to exit a position before they place a bet regardless of winning or losing.

Threads like this one tell be that we are experiencing more and more capitulation. But the amount of people who cling to a bubble is still quite high. They also postulate one in 2-3 weeks, which is... I don't know... off?

Title: Re: They told me bubble
Post by: Capt Drake on August 06, 2014, 07:36:40 PM
You can't predict major bubbles using data from the past...
Huge bubbles will form if the market have a HUGE Demand for bitcoin, that's why the price will rise.

Look for good news and then you'll be on the right path.

Ah well, I try to keep my hopes up, too. The other bubbles weren't expected either, and this one isn't exactly called off by now. But who knows... maybe those people screaming for more capitulation and stuff are right. Maybe they actually know their stuff!

Yes. Even the top tier speculators on Wall st. rarely do better than odds. The so called gurus are those who make outrageous guesses until one hits. The market forgets all their incorrect guesses and exalts their one big score.
The most successful speculators make very timid and conservative predictions and are still not really consistent.  For example, I predict higher gas prices in 10 years.

Gas price yes maybe sooner then 10 year, for crypto that is something that can happen every moment day hour .....

That now it work. So in long term hold in short sell when price is high.

I agree. I'm sure that there will be another bubble, but almost every prediction of when this bubble will start has failed (including my own). The few predictions that end up being correct will be, I suspect, coincidences.

Just wait a bit, I'm sure it'll bubble soon! I mean we can't force the bubble, can we? Also the times between bubbles tends to get higher and higher for every bubble. We may need another month or two for the bubble to come. But you guys are sure it'll come, too, aren't you???

So do they just gamble on what they think will happen and get out at a loss as fast as possible if they guess wrong?

Most people think it is a bubble because it went from worthless to 1000+ in less than 5 years.

The 50-70% correction and re-inflate price certainly do not make it easy for case that it is not in a bubble stage.

Keep doing this and you be the falllling guy with opposite signal.

Can't see much more than 600 break, we are in August and most people are hoping the end of year wage bonus to save their financial lifes, so less money to bubble the market

It is also not easy/possible to predict when we are actually in a bubble. There are instances when investments see significant returns that are sustained over time and/or do not ever turn negative after have large returns. Bubbles can be very profitable if you time them right but you almost never can do so without a lot of "luck"

It is, most people are too impatient, though! The bubble cycles take more and more time each time a bubble occurs! We might have to wait another month or so until the next bubble arrives. I think we'll see an upswing starting mid-september!

So we're supposed to bounce off $562 on 19 Aug?? Seems like a good plan, although I really don't want to see bitcoin going down any further! But if we then assume a full-blown moon course, I'm all in for that assessment! Looks like a good analysis in my books!

If one is scared I guess it's most safe to get out and also stay out. If you want to stay in the game it's best to hold. I guess it's prudent not to be overly invested at this point. Definitely not with something you can't afford to lose at all cost!
