I'm not trying to spark some game wars here but I just want to know what you guys feel about these games, and which one is better.

In my opinion LoL.

I feel that DotA 2 has a better free to play system (that is pay to look pretty in the style of TF2) compared to LoL which has pay to win aspect (runes)
DotA 2 has a higher skill celing with heroes such as meepo and Invoker
I also prefer DotA 2's art style over LoLs highly cartoony styling.
DotA 2 is a better spectator sport, the abilities and casts are easier to keep track of end differentiate between and has much larger events like the international ($10,928,050 Prize pool WAT)

Except you can't buy runes via RP. You can only buy them via IP.

But you can pay for IP and XP boosters
Not to mention having to grind up to unlock champions making it an uneven playing field
That and gating "Summoner Spells" To certain levels is a stupid concept for a MOBA

I've tried both but I stuck with Dota 2. I have several problems with LoL - first of all, the graphics look outdated and are way too cartoony. Second, the community is far too young (average age is something like 17-19), I am 24 myself. Third, the game is very simple - the item choices are not very exciting and activatable items are more interesting and important in dota. Also, there is no denying which removes an element of skill from laning. Map awareness also seems a lot more important in Dota, and I feel there are a lot more playstyles and things to think / worry about which adds to complexity and excitement. I recently had 2 friends who switched from dota to lol come back to play to play dota with me and they are enjoying it a lot.

seems like heroes of newerth doesn't get much attention eh? the style is much closer to dota 2. i don't understand why people like LoL, the pace is so slow and the graphics subpar.

I prefer LoL, since I kinda like the community better Dota 2. Don't get me wrong though. I love Dota 2. I just like LoL alot. :3

League of Legends was cool and a lot more fun than Dota 1 before, but when Dota 2 came, well, let's just say LoL lost it touch already. And also Lol also incorporate pay-to-win system with the runes, don't get me wrong, its just IMO.

League of legends is much better because you can customize your hero..

Of course I prefer the DotA 2.
In fact I prefer HoN than LoL.

you can do it on dota2, just make some costume that you want on workshop and submit it to steam  8)

Dota 2 is better. League players can't deny it.

I love Dota 2.

More kids play league of legends I feel, and its full of trolls.

Then again all games of trolls. But leagues community is way worse I feel then any other.

DotA 2 is an objectively better game.
The skill ceiling is higher, the prize pools are higher and the game has much more depth and complexity.
i think DotA 2 has better balancing, each hero can be played in any role (Jungle Dazzle anyone?) and are not forced into the "Carry or support" structure of LoL. For example, characters like Windrunner are semi-carries which are a hybrid between support with abilities to help and a carry which abilities to do damage.
DotA has much more unique heroes, characters such as Rubik with his spell-Steal and chen with his ability to control jungle creeps make the game more interesting and "Hard Counters" Are less common.
