Title: CGMiner Difficulty Share Value vs HW Errors
Post by: Honeycutt22 on August 07, 2014, 11:30:21 PM
I was curious... If I'm mining BTC at 1000 difficulty and get 100 shares... That's 100,000 value? ANd if I have 10 HW errors those are calculated at a value of one? So = 10?

My HW error % would be (10 / 100,000) x 100? So .01% HW error?

Or am I way off?

It depends on whether the device is internally only looking for diff 1000 shares or diff 1 shares (most do the latter and cgminer filters low diff shares) so that's about right, but include the HW errors in the total as well: 10 / 100010
