I just found out about it and in an unbelievable price. The seller has an 80% off sale right now and sells it for 18$ only. In the description is says the usb and power included, but I did send a message to seller asking him about it just to be sure. Anyway, I'm new and wanted to know what you think about it? Post by: cxboyminer on August 08, 2014, 07:59:43 AM If you are not looking to make a living with mining bitcoin in general, R-box is a good starting point because it's easy to config and start hashing. However, if you are looking for any profit margin, then no R-box is not a good starting point. Unless you got the miner for free and have free electricity, this machine will get you no profit.

Yes, this for starting point :) About profits, I get that I won't profit much, but this is as I said to learn and maybe make some bitcoins along the way (who knows, I can always be lucky :) ). I don't get it for free but the price is $18, which includes shipping with the DHL so should be quick to arrive and much cheaper than StickMines such as Antminer U2. As for electricity, it's not cheap as you mentioned, but I don't pay too much for it and it isn't going to be working 24/7 at the beginning at least. Once the your r-box is not efficient enough to mine, stop wasting electricity :) You should be able to reinvest on better items with the coins you mined until then.

From reading and learning the last few days, I got the idea that it is better to reinvest BTC you get (won't be much, but you got to start somewhere and my budget is really small). I also noticed that many shops accept bitcoins and sometimes only bitcoins. I also guess I would be able to sell it later for someone else who's just starting, as in my still not very educated opinion 32 GH/s can still get you some coins even though the difficulty is on the rise all the time. Its the same problem as with pc games and GPUs, there's no end to it and every day new products get out. If your budget is not great, you can't hope to follow, but you can still do a little and someitmes you might get lucky and find new blocks (although I still need to learn more about what exactly is the deal with finding blocks, why do they need to be found in the first place ;) ). The best You can do with R-box with 18$ price is to buy all of them and resell for double price. Double Your money in one week. Yeah, again sounds too good to be true... :-\

I can't buy it anymore. Also, I am hearing about GH/s not being enough anymore, and while it's true, not everyone has got a huge budget to buy TH/s machines. I also can't seem to find StickMines (e.g. antminer U2) as for some reason they are all out of stock and it seems like they become rare but people still want them. Anyway, I will have to keep looking, maybe I'll just buy some cloud mining on CEX.io, eBay seems to be full of them for cheap prices on the GH/s. |
