Man, already?

I was hoping to scoop some up while everyone was dumping.  I don't like Stellar but there's too much money behind it for it to not go up at least 10 fold from here.

Because money made Mastercoin and Maidsafe hit $100 million, right?  Oh wait it didn't..

There's plenty of fake volume in cryptos, especially when you have angel investors and other rich people looking to run their own ponzi scheme, but it's another for it to actually hit the $100+ million ballpark and stay there.

The issue with coins like Ethereum is by the time that coin launches there's no ROI for subsequent investors.  Why would anyone buy at launch day when Ethereum is $20+ million when there's no guarantee it will go higher than $50 million?  Capital is a limited resource for most people unless you're an private fund and even those funds tend to have brains to see past bad investments.  Pretty much everyone who wants Ethereum has already bought it, so who will be the subsequent investors?  Ditto

People who invested into Mastercoin would had made more money off Doge and NxT.  People who invested into Maidsafe would had made more money off Dark.

I have a haunch that people throwing bags of money at Ethereum and Stellar will likely make more money off an unforeseen coin.

No, but money did make mastercoin go over $20 per coin and stay there longer than any other "popular" alt.

Good tech is great but money is behind most success stories.

I too was hoping to grab some stellar coins at the bottom.  Looks like I'm gonna have to wait to see if it drops again as I think it will.  Way too many people got free coins to play with and dump.

Well, 75-85k was a good place to sell to catch that pullback, I must say. :) I think we could actually see <20k prices, maybe even <10k, considering how far XRP got. Fingers crossed... :P

Hold your coins and wait!
I think price will go much more high then that right now.
Really believe so. Look at all the people who bought at early stage and I think we are still at the early stage.

I agree, some of these people can't do simple math.  Look at ripple for a good example, it only got so high cause it had tens of billions of CrapCoins premined for insiders.  Exactly like stellar.  If it goes up 10 fold that would be a lot and it would give it a huge market cap as well compared to most alts.

Did you miss out on all the XRP pumps? While you're staring at the total supply, you're not considering how controlled the tradeable supply is. It can be pumped magnificently, and will be -- just like XRP was.

I second this opinion although I'd say buy the bottom for a good rebound.  Could be a good coin to trade given it has rich backers who will try to do something.

I remember everyone thinking Maza was going to the moon and beyond. Now you could just about buy a soda with a 8000 of them.

Know when to hold, and when to fold. By the time everyone's raving about the next big thing, you're already late to the game.

That's so true, I think Maza is down 99.9%, it completely collapsed.  As has Aurora and many other supposed the next great thing coins.

In this game knowing when to sell is just as important as knowing when and which coin to buy.  A fortune can be made on under a year but I've seen Bitcoin millionaires lose everyone in alts in a matter of months as well.

You won't make it if you don't try so do your homework and take the risk and don't be greedy.

This has nothing to do with maza or aurora coins, you are talking about bitcoin clone scams with only promises and stellar is not even based on bitcoin and its not only a coin, its more like a paypal decentralized system

It takes a while to add stellar since its code base is so different from Bitcoin's.  That's my guess anyway.

I'd like to see Cryptsy add both, Ripple and stellar cause they would be good coins to actively trade given there's little chance of them going to 1 Satoshi like most other alts.

Stellar is more than a currency but I still don't like their massive premine and the fact insiders gave each other billions of coins.  I'm not supporting that kind of thing.  And plenty of other coins can do what stellar does so no need to enrich the greedy.

its 100% premined but because the focus is not being mined but being distributed and working as gateway, I dont like this fact too but it can be a temporary bridge between bitcoin and fiat for the masses.

I think their focus would be just fine without a 100% premine.  Look at Bitcoin, it's doing great.  It's not like these rich insiders have to mine the coins with their bare hands.

I get what you're saying but if that's their excise then it's a sad copout to justify enriching themselves.  And besides all that, PoW is still the best way to secure a coin.

 :D :D :D

That's exactly what I've been talking about.  People hate these self enrichment schemes like Stellar and ripple and most know there are fair alts which can accomplish the same goals as stellar so why give them your money.

But that doesn't mean one can't trade stellar but the price would have to be dirt cheap to justify it.  For me that's $.001 which is $1 per 1,000 stellar.  And I'm willing to wait for that since I don't plan to hold stellar long term - if I miss it then that's ok with me.

yes but not today, many people claimed 3500 STR distributed in the past 2 days, that's why the price goes down. It will keep going down to 300-400 and then rebound.

You won't make it if you don't try so do your homework and take the risk and don't be greedy.

Problem is homework is irrelevant in the world of crypto. No amount of homework could combat the FUD that took down Aurora and Maza, both which actually proved to have honest devs in the end still dedicated to their coin long after the P&D was over.

Stellar looks to have a great future ahead of it.

I agree except for the last part.  Insiders are holding a ton of stellar coins for themselves.  Billions.  And they're giving away 20% of the entire coin to the already rich prior owners of ripple which also, coincidentally, include themselves.

So stellar is really no different than ripple.  Just a couple rich ripple guys who wanted more freedom.  That's basically it.

If I still had STR, I'd sell it ASAP. From what I can tell, there is nothing promising in the near future. Unless something BIG happens soon, I really cannot see it going further. I made a post over on Stellartalk about my opinions on the future of the coin and it's current positives/negatives. It got quickly deleted and I was IP banned from the forums. I thought it was a pretty good read too, I was being honest and showed some proof to both my criticisms and praises. But, just like the coin itself, Stellartalk is just as centralized against free thinking.

Stellars are being given away for free in a massive scale, I think the price will keep going down. Only when they stop giving STR away, or if the demand for STR is bigger than the amount of STR in circulation, then the price will go up.

The last time the price of Stellar went to 1000 satoshi per STR was because they had stopped giving rewards for several days in a row and the demand kept growing, now that they are giving STR away again the price is down.

They have to keep giving away. Otherwise it will be just as bad as Ripple, and then there is no reason for it to be successful.

Long term I have to agree that Stellar will be going up. Jed has a lot of experience in cryptos and a lot of connections so I am sure he will be doing everything he can on this one (even more than he did with Ripple).

How much is stellar selling for now?

It's at its lowest point since before August 7th.

Aug 7th: $0.0025 - 0.00000428
Aug 10th: $0.0059 - 0.00000826
September 5th: $0.0021 - 0.00000432

Thanks for the info.  But for me, for a coin with over 1 billion coins and massively distributed to insiders, 432 Satoshi is still way too much.

If it gets to under 100 Sats then it's worth a gamble simply because the rich guys getting richer off stellar will try to do something to increase the value of thei massive stellar holdings.  No different than buying stock in a back ran and owned by bankers.

Cheers!

Just hodl and pray that devs pump it up way further, since they hold most of it they would definitely try to raise its value so they can dump their owned coins.

Btw: If anyone need more stellars, I have an invite code which I am selling for 0.01 BTC

How low do you guys think stellar will go?

I'm hoping Cryptsy adds them so I can buy some without the hassle.

Everyone has its point of view but in my opinion stellar isn't a candidate for the best coin of 2014, but maybe it can explode in 2015.

I totally agree.  Although I think all alts will explode later this year after Bitcoin goes to Nasdaq.

Forget about stellar.Stellar is just a clone of ripple. Why people like Stellar than ripple?
