Title: All my altcoin wallets are corrupt. Post by: findftp on August 12, 2014, 12:05:55 AM So, what did I do? I bought a few of those shitcoins a few months ago, about 1,5 BTC total back then. I transferred them to my local PC wallets and actually saw them (though unconfirmed because I was too lazy to wait for the complete chain to download) I'm running linux and I used a few native linux wallets (bitcoin, litecoin, possibly namecoin) and the rest were windows wallets ran through wine. All the wine wallets actually ran much easier than the linux version (I hate "make", it *never* runs without errors, but that's another discussion) I checked all alt-chains if the coins were actually at the address which was shown in the wallet application. They still are, they are not stolen. All coins are 2 hours later.... Motherfuck... Of course. I just had to let the wallet application download the blockchain to see the balance. I actually lost all of my coins - I really did. I have no idea how to recover them from the hard drive. I tried keyhunter - that ran for about a day and I finally stopped it. And Photorec found 1mil+ files - but of course I have no idea if any of those are the wallet.dats because the file names are changed. Guess I'm just SOL. On a good note, I found an older version of website file so I spent the day rebuilding it. Still not back to where it was... but I'd rather that than having to start from scratch! Now it's time for the grueling task of downloading new wallets... and setting up p2pools for those. Hell, I created a script to help me auto compile wallets and create files... it'll take me longer to rewrite than if I just do the deed of downloading again... what can ya do, ya kno! |
