Title: Help - "Insufficient funds" error yet there IS money in the account
Post by: MGuerrillas on August 12, 2014, 08:13:35 AM
Hi,

I'm trying to make a transfer on Blockchain and I'm receiving an error that says:

Quote
Insufficient funds. Value needed 0.011 BTC. Available amount 0 BTC

There is definitely sufficient money in the account.

Why is it reporting that there's 0 BTC?

Can anyone offer any help?

Thanks

Are any of the addresses with BTC archived?

Are there Watch only addresses?

Comparing addresses on btc.blockr.io gives the same result?

Otherwise: https://blockchain.zendesk.com/home

Or could it be that you have to pay a huge amount of fee due to small transactions received?

Logout first and try to re-login. Also, you might wanna try to use "quick send" to transfer money on blockchain instead of "custom".

Also after trying the suggestion above, you might want to check if you leave enough for transaction fees on your wallet, and not just transfer everything

You could also just go and tell us the Bitcoin address so we can take a look at this! Maybe you've made some basic mistake you're just not aware of :) Or blockchain.info is acting up again. The like to display numbers multiplied by 2 at times :D

Yeah, please tell us the address, man. We can only try to help you if we can see what went wrong here. You know, sometimes additional pairs of eyes can really make a difference in spotting the mistake, man :D

Yup, give us the address and we can see if there's an obivous mistake somewhere. It's hard to guess the reasons without being able to access your bitcoin address on some blockchain explorer!

This is pretty weird, maybe something to do with the fees?

You're absolutely sure you actually have money in that address?

What client are you using? Have you potentially imported your keys into a second wallet and spend some of your coins with the 2nd wallet but are not attempting to spend them in the 1st one?

He used the word "blockchain" in the OP and so I guess he is using blockchain.info wallet.
If that is the case, the balance should be synced immediately if his coins has already been spent.

In which case, the blockchain (not the wallet) and the client is not to blame. Maybe he's been receiving tiny transactions and his fee is crazy-high.

If a transaction has come in and is not yet confirmed you are not allowed to spend it until it confirms. Hope that helps
