The next step is Litecoin (scrypt algorithm) they said "it is ASIC resistant" ,but now there are scrypt ASICs. The peoples made X11 X13 POS and the others. THERE ARE NO ASIC RESISTANT COIN. As long as there will be new algorithms there will be peoples who make new type of ASICs. See it at BTC.

Man, they are still here, but tis bloody hard to find anymore... and a lot of stuff does not get the attention that it deserves. Case in point is Cryptonite (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713538.0). They had a beta test for at least a month bringing some real badass tech to the party and no one could be bothered to even test it. Everyday there are new coins and some of them are really different from the others, read their specifications and have fun studying how they works (the altcoins are open source, almost all of them).
