Title: ~~~ Homeless Veterans ~~~

You don't really have to listen to the song but the on screen lyrics speaks alot with how our society and government works.

I think homeless veterans in our country shows some harsh reality.. when nobody can use your skills, you can get in such situation. It's rather shameful, you think you do something good for your country, but in the end the country doesn't care.

If you get into the military and are able to learn a skill (mechanic, cook, logistics, etc) you'll be well suited and able to get a job on the outside plus you're likely to not have seen active combat which could wind you up w/ mental issues. We all know that illegal immigrants get way better health treatment than veterans get so you might get the "thank you for your service" routine if you've served in combat but not much else.

It's a shame but many people underestimate how many homeless and/or homeless veterans suffer from mental issues.  Someone with a clear train of thought does not need to be homeless or unemployed in the United States.  It might not be pretty but there's always some last resort of moving to Anchorage, the Dakotas or one of the middle states with low unemployment.

I don't bother with the lazy argument because our society is full of lazy people, they're called politicians and civil servants who haven't lifted a hammer or worked past 8 hours in their life and yet live an entitled lifestyle that Kings in the Medieval ages would envy.  Let's not even get started with people who live off investments and/or Hollyweird actors who make more money in one movie than most Americans make in an entire lifetime (especially for actors who can't act but are being themselves).

It's crazy that a quarter of all homeless people in the US are war veterans:

The amount of money the military industrial complex makes, you would think they could at least try and look after their cannon fodder. It's not much better in the UK, vets have to rely on charities here for treatment/housing etc when it should be the government looking after them.

And 3 out of 4 homeless are not veteran.

Anyone given any thought to the 3/4 homeless non-veteran?

A more accurate title would be "homeless terrorists".

Oh look you made a funny  ::)

I see the jihad is strong in you!  Makes you angry, gives you focus, makes you stronger.

Get off your moral high horse.

None of those sentences make sense.

Homeless veterans are a hypothetical a national security concern.  HV know how to use weapons and nowadays you have the Saudis and Qataris who are paying $1000/day for people to fight in the Jihad.

Though, if the independent paper in the UK is any indication, the 'Holy Warriors' spend more time trying to seduce young women on the internet than trying to bolster their ranks to include skilled combatants.

Where do I sign up for the $1000/day job?

Yeah of course, just found it surprising that a country that prides itself on its military would treat their vets in such a way.

They are overseas and generally in war zones. You generally will need military experience and would need to put yourself in harms way on a daily basis with not small chances of you getting shot at (if you are lucky), or having bombs blow up near you.
