Title: BAMT Issues
Post by: Xmufa23X on March 24, 2012, 05:27:56 PM
First issue,
This should be a fairly easy question to answer: What is the command to identify which GPU in BAMT is which?
For instance, I have two 5830s. One is a Sapphire, the other an XFX. Now how do I know which is gpu0, and gpu1?

Second issue,
I don't seem to be able to reset the root password using the "passwd" command. I wanted to use Putty to connect to my rig, but it keeps denying access (root@192.168.1.5 Password: changeme). So I've been trying to reset the password, and it won't let me... :-[

Help please? I will pay whoever gives me a working solution for either problem.

Fixed the password issue.

Now I just need the command to help identity the GPUs. Still willing to pay for whoever posts the command

not sure of the command, but if you disable one in the conf and set the other ones fan to 100, then start the miner, it should be obvious which is which, hope that made sense.

Yeah I already thought about that. But I'm trying to think long term once I have a huge rig setup. When miners have a rig with 4+ cards each in them, it's hard to keep lowering/raising the fan speed to find out which one is which. I've seen the command before, but stupidly forgot to write it down.

It's like -atigpuidentify or something...

I think "idgpu" is what you are looking for.  It plays with fan speeds so you can tell which card is which.

aticonfig --list-adapters is what you are looking for aybe you should also try reading the config file i am sure youll see it right there

Quote
# You'll need one gpuX: section per GPU installed.  Not sure what's installed,
# or the order?  Open a root shell and type:  aticonfig --list-adapters
#
# You can delete gpu sections if you don't have that many cards..

 --lsa, --list-adapters
Lists all detected and supported display adapters.
The default adapter (used when --adapter is not specified)
will be indicated with a "*" next to it.

same thing as what i said, either one should work though

Using cgminer or phoenix?

/opt/bamt/stop_mining will kill the miners
