Title: BTC transaction not confirming Post by: megashira1 on August 16, 2014, 02:58:25 AM Hi,
I sent this transaction almost 3 hours ago from my armory wallet to an exchange.. https://blockchain.info/tx/828fe70828f66ddc43951f3e744c7cbfad0505ec5799d4bbe223d649ee1b06e7 Still not 1 confirmation.. wtf Title: Re: BTC transaction not confirming Post by: leancuisine on August 16, 2014, 03:32:30 AM Hi, Doesn't seem to be confirmed yet right now either. It might have been the transaction size, which is 979 bytes. Perhaps a higher fee like 0.0005BTC or 0.001BTC would have made it confirm much quicker if this is an urgent deposit.I sent this transaction almost 3 hours ago from my armory wallet to an exchange.. https://blockchain.info/tx/828fe70828f66ddc43951f3e744c7cbfad0505ec5799d4bbe223d649ee1b06e7 Still not 1 confirmation.. wtf Title: Re: BTC transaction not confirming Post by: zhinkk on August 16, 2014, 03:35:09 AM Hi, Doesn't seem to be confirmed yet right now either. Here, https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees , it says: "A transaction may be safely sent without fees if these conditions are met: It is smaller than 1,000 bytes. " Also, blockchain says very high priority. Idk what's up. Title: Re: BTC transaction not confirming Post by: jjc326 on August 16, 2014, 04:02:11 AM Honestly, I've had transactions go 12 hours before confirming. They didn't even show on the network once, it was REALLY annoying but everyone assured me I just needed to wait. I do think it's sometimes a shortcoming of bitcoin but it did go through. Also if it never goes through it's my understanding there is a way to "cancel" the transaction so that you don't lose the money. So you'll be fine.
Title: Re: BTC transaction not confirming Post by: oceans on August 16, 2014, 04:04:05 AM I have had a .15 transaction in there for about 2 hrs and it just got its first confirmation. Even earlier today It was taking more then an hr or more to get to 3 confirms.

No, the fee is fine. .0001 per kb. Size is <1kb. Honestly, I've had transactions go 12 hours before confirming. If the miners do not know about your TX, they can not put it in a block. Depending on the client it will just stop broadcasting the TX (or not) so it will be forgotten (or not) and you can make a new one (or not). Title: Re: BTC transaction not confirming Post by: zedicus on August 16, 2014, 05:25:25 AM Hi, It really depends on the nodes that are broadcasting the transactions. If the major pools are not connected to a node that is broadcasting your TX then it will likely not get confirmed. I am not 100% sure of the reason why your particular TX would not make it to these nodes. Sometimes the network is slow it happens. Remember a 30 to 50 minute wait a few days ago on something I sent.
