Title: Hello Post by: Reall Blue on March 26, 2012, 04:26:13 PM Hi I'm new here and decided to Register and increase my knowledge on computing :D I'm relatively in any standards "all-right" with computers and stuff. I know a Computer isn't the monitor and a CPU isn't a computer although i know a few people who don't know :D
So I'm getting interested in the know-hows of Bitcoins and the raw computer power needed to generate them ^^ Anyways some more about me; I've learnt a few coding languages; Code: C++ thats pretty much all. Also my current rig (isn't rig at all >.< since its 5yr old Laptop using CPU instead of GPU) gets around 0.7Mhps (700Khash/s this is on startup) Basic Technical Lingo (i picked up after few minutes here lol fast learned ) Startup = 0.7Mhash/s (Starts very high for some reason?) Average = 0.2Mhash/s Running = Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 550 @ 2.00GHz Picture:https://i.imgur.com/UyBPi.png Ps. any thoughts on a good rig? like hybrid or dedicated? because I'm all for gaming for when Bitcoins hit a hyper-deflation or "off season" ~Blue Title: Re: Hello Post by: TomatoCaqe on March 26, 2012, 04:30:45 PM try to install some AMD Cards into your rig like 5858, 5870 and it'll get you running better than you are now
Title: Re: Hello Post by: Reall Blue on March 26, 2012, 04:39:59 PM Thanks sounds like good idea! Going to go get new Gaming Desktop/Semi-Rig so probably going to get awesome graphics card. Thanks for advice much appreciated :)
Title: Re: Hello Post by: TomatoCaqe on March 26, 2012, 05:09:59 PM You will probably need a PSU and a better motherboard and possibly some PCI cables.
Title: Re: Hello Post by: VerticalRush on March 26, 2012, 05:12:42 PM Thanks sounds like good idea! Going to go get new Gaming Desktop/Semi-Rig so probably going to get awesome graphics card. Thanks for advice much appreciated :) Nvidia GPUs aren't worth it these days, you'll never make as much as you spend on power. What you want in an ideal world is a 7970 or similar, undervolt it and enjoy your 5Mh/s per watt or so :D Oh, and use somewhere other than deepbit, those fees add up :P Title: Re: Hello Post by: TomatoCaqe on March 26, 2012, 05:20:48 PM Yeah. Nvidia is not good for mining. And those 7970 are expensive and you could get two 5850 and possibly get more power than 1 7970
As for pool, I heard of a pool called abcpool and it has no fees Title: Re: Hello Post by: Tomatocage on March 26, 2012, 05:31:39 PM You will probably need a PSU and a better motherboard and possibly some PCI cables. Check out this fag trying to impersonate me. Probably BlueCorp/Amytron ::) Title: Re: Hello Post by: Tomatocage on March 26, 2012, 05:35:45 PM Hey Reall Blue, when you break out of Newbie status, make sure to head straight to the Lending section and start asking for handouts! lol
