If you are from Euro, I recommend Bitcoin.de if you don't want to be forced to have your ID scanned and sent to them. They are pretty slow tho.

Coinbase will take a few days to set up, but in long run is better then localbitcoins. (in my opinion) For the ones who are worried about being not known they will turn to localbitcoins. Localbitcoins.com and with some sellers you can negotiate on the spot. I did it with one guy, stating we re-do the escrow once we see each other on the spot which he agreed. Investing in companies denominated in BTC (Bitcoin stocks, etc.) is really really dangerous, if you ask me. Effectively every stock on Havelock Investments is currently trading below its IPO price!

High potential profit comes together with high risk. The most profitable (and most risky) investment IMO is to send your bitcoin to a HYIP (eg. an unknown person claiming to send you 150% back in a day).
