This should be in the market place. why dont u just install an app that overlays over everything you are doing. I am sure there is an app that does this. and is it really that hard to alt + tab and look at the price? play the game in windowed mode and have a BTC ticker that updates in your system tray. Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: evanito on August 21, 2014, 12:58:04 AM I can imagine someone hanging this on their wall. Great decor.

Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: bitgeek on August 21, 2014, 02:13:28 AM Looks nice, although why not just buy a small portable lcd like this one?
http://www.pcper.com/files/imagecache/article_max_width/review/2011-10-20/photo1.jpg You could use it for much more than just BTC price! For instance have communicators on it while you're gaming, watch bitcoin charts and so on. Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: franky1 on August 21, 2014, 02:37:12 AM simply search "cheap wifi android phone"
then install a bitcoin ticker on the phone.. and your done Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: HCLivess on August 21, 2014, 09:43:57 AM Phone? Why not use Rasberry Pi? But maybe you're right, phone is better for casual peasants. ;)
Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: Meuh6879 on August 21, 2014, 11:20:10 AM yes, buy a refurbished smartphone (like galaxy s3) ... download app and wifi and plug to charger permanently.
more cheap, more simple. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img539/4958/TH6yn6.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img539/4958/TH6yn6.jpg Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: niktitan132 on August 21, 2014, 11:24:51 AM A cheap android phone could do the work, too. But,that homemade price ticker looks more cool! ;D
Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: ticoti on August 21, 2014, 12:38:20 PM Actually the android phone is the easiest but the arduino or raspberry is the coolest :D

Don't be picky on the aesthetics. If it does its job well then there shouldn't be a problem. If you didn't want it to look 'gay' then you should build one yourself.Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: itsAj on August 21, 2014, 04:37:45 PM simply search "cheap wifi android phone" I don't see why you could not use your phone, ipad, ipod or other similar device. There is no real reason to need a device specifically to display the price of bitcoin. With iDevices you can even change the settings so that the display does not shut off automatically after x amount of time.then install a bitcoin ticker on the phone.. and your done With that being said it is kind of unhealthy to be monitoring the price of bitcoin that closely. Get a raspberry pi.Title: Re: BTC LCD Displays Post by: CozyLife on August 21, 2014, 10:22:31 PM Get a programmable LED display and have it pull data from whatever exchange you'd like. It could make things easier to have different exchange rates scrolling accross. Personally, I have the "Litecoin" widget on my android. Despite its name, it allows you to pull data from various exchanges and it's not just Litecoin data either.

Thank you for pointing that out. I just can't express how stupid people appear when they use the word 'gay' in a demeaning or negative sense, ha. |
