I see that its concept is based on searching for chains of prime numbers and the miners dont use SHA256 hashing. I checked their website http://primecoin.io/, the current market cap is over $12k.

TBH, unless primecoin is taken in by some scientific community or college or something, the coin will/is most likely dead....there's not really a purpose to mining it, since there aren't many people buying it...because it doesn't really make sense to buy it when it's only feature is to find prime numbers.... TBH, unless primecoin is taken in by some scientific community or college or something, the coin will/is most likely dead....there's not really a purpose to mining it, since there aren't many people buying it...because it doesn't really make sense to buy it when it's only feature is to find prime numbers.... Yea, but if you can mine 10 times faster, you can exchange them for btc later? :) Seems logic, if they increase in price.
