Title: Avalon2 Connection refused. SOLVED
Post by: kevin01sb on August 22, 2014, 06:29:41 PM
Hello,

New to mining. Got an Avalon2 rig.

Able to connecto to TP LINK WR703N. Once im in I look at the cgminer API log and this is what it says.

[Firmware Version] => 20140411
cgminer: d73ac70
cgminer-openwrt-packages: 9285c46
luci: c06eb57
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

Need help. Willing to do a Team Viewer session.

Update: The issue was my wr703n. Basically it had a static IP assigned. When i went to diagnostics and tried to do a ping test, it would time out. The for the hell of it I tried setting the LAN interface to use DHCP rather than STATIC. I applied the changes and restarted device. Found the new ip address assigned to it by my router. Logged in and it seemed to be working!!! Double checked the netowrk diagnostics and the ping test now works. So for me the connection refused meant that cgminer could not reach the mining pool.

i am having a problem similar to that of yours. How did u setup the miner to get to the configuration step? Like first step is plugin to computer with ethernet. 2nd step is to change laptop ip to something (what do i chang laptop ip to and how do i do it). What are the next steps after this also
