Interesting guy! http://www.vice.com/read/william-gibson Quote In these three works, Gibson explores the dark, dark world of marketing, advertising, and trend forecasting. Unsurprisingly, it’s pretty scary stuff. http://www.viceland.com/blogs/en/files/2010/09/william-gibson-credit-michael-oshea1-550x410.jpg Title: Re: Cyberpunk Post by: nedbert9 on April 07, 2012, 09:22:15 PM Figured it was appropriate for this forum... Neuromancer being one of his first and most well known in this genre. I love his writing style, but it's hard to acclimate to at first. He also wrote the screen play for Johnny Mnemonic. His latest novels are a departure from the gritty, hip cyberpunk world. I think his first departing novel is related to national security. Yep, some of his cyberpunk work has been like a bright flare and some interesting, but anticlimactic. All Tomorrow's Parties and Neuromancer are my fav's. I agree that Count Zero was weaker than most. |
