Title: [WTS] 400 (four hundred) 7950's
Post by: kotarius on August 27, 2014, 01:47:57 PM
I would like to broker a deal for 400 (four hundred) 7950 GPUs, a mix of Sapphire and MSI. I live in USA.

50 never mined with (refurbs)
50 mined with since February 2014
200 mined with since December 2013
100 mined with since October 2013

I understand there are some miners with free electricity + better mining software + lots of money, and they may be interested in a large GPU purchase.

Interested parties, please PM.

absolutely insane video.  this dude took the saying "go big or go home" literally.  your user ID should be "BossHog".

Nuts. I had enough headaches at times with 100 gpus. Could not imagine 400.

Wow! What a boss of a farm! I'm assuming your mining a different algo now like some x11 or something? I can't imagine scrypt being profitable anymore with GPU's.

Would you mind sharing how you are/were able to afford such a large building and why you have the miners so spread out? It seems like they'd all fit on that single floor with the huge fan in the window. Also, would that metal gate inside the building actually keep anyone out from the farm? Seems pretty easy to just jump heh.

I sir salute that farm of yours.  An absolute thing of horrific beauty it was!  Did I read that temp. right in 2nd to last room 98.x?  Bet you had fire extinguishers all over the place while you had it running.  Also curious as to whether or not your mining another algo. now or have just shut them down entirely pending sale?

Thank you for the comments.

I started scrypt in October with the GPUs, then when the scrypt asics started shipping en masse, I switched to mining x11 in May.

I tried my best to find better mining software and more lucrative coins with some trading volume, but was unsuccessful. I am keeping the infrastructure in place and selling the GPUs.

It was pretty bad at times, especially when I did not have the proper cooling setup.

Yes, that is correct. Sometimes it would reach 110F, but that is no big deal. Industrial warehouse sprinklers go off somewhere in the 200-300F range. However, most GPUs ran in a 65-75C range.

The Landlords just put me wherever they had space and electrical panels. Rent was pretty cheap at $400/year. I hired an electrician to run my own power. The closer you are to existing breaker panels, the cheaper it is to run your own power.

The landlords trust their tenants. The metal gate is just to separate the farm operations from the rest of that space so they can still rent out should they need to. We also have cameras pointed everywhere.

That original video I posted was from March. This one is from June, it has more GPUs and an ASIC farm:

$400 a year? gah.. I'm definitely in the wrong place for mining.

You are PiMP dev? Think I saw that vid at litecointalk or maybe reddit a few months back.

How much would one of these set me back?

Do you have warranty or a proof that you bought it incase they break down?
Just some questions I find rather important :P

This depends on the quantity you want. Not really interested in selling one at a time.

All of these have warranty and proof of purchase.

I'll take ten off your hands at 60 a piece via escrow.  The oldest used ones.
