Title: Has anyone had a "pay it forward line" going where it was paid in BTC???? Post by: 5 Guys Burgers on August 27, 2014, 03:15:40 PM Hi!
I was listening to a radio show talking about the big pay it forward 380 + people did at a star bucks recently and it got really viral news marketting about it. I was wondering if anyone ever was in line at a store or business that takes BTC and someone paid it forward for them by using BTC? I think this would be a really neat thing to have happen. I also wonder what are the implications of this? Is this possible to do or would it be more of a hassle? I assume the places are using 0 confirmations and lets say it happens at a starbucks that takes bitcoin. thoughts?? :) Title: Re: Has anyone had a "pay it forward line" going where it was paid in BTC???? Post by: franky1 on August 27, 2014, 03:41:48 PM some apps wont let you re-send without atleast 1 confirm.. so imagine the delay.
especially if the second transaction has to wait for the first transaction to confirm before it gets confirms.. the starbucks think was not really a random act of kindness because the people were simply still handing over the same amount of funds. yet the receipt was for a different person.. so no one actually gained anything from it. i prefer pay it forward campaigns as more like the proper random acts of kindness efforts rather then a payment chain. you know where you surprise someone at random and give them something that benefits them. and changes their day. a simple "your $4 coffee has been paid for, now pay me $4 for the next person" is most definitely just an advertising scheme |
