Man... Somebody at NewEgg REALLY wanted coins...

In other words I hate you busy beaver why didn't you post this Yesterday when the sale was still on XD
But 75 dollars off on purchases over 300 dollars isn't a bad discount
Someone knows that the Bitcoin exchange rate is low and is willing to take that discount into account and still make more in the long run lol.

Discount would be split according to the ratio of purchases we make. IE if I spend $200 and you spend $100, I will get 2/3 ($50) of the $75 discount and you get 1/3 ($25) discount? I don't think they are that desperate for coins (they could easily buy them on an exchange). They have probably realized how much less it costs to accept bitcoin then it does to process a credit card transaction. The goal of the promotion is likely to try to get people to use bitcoin, and more specifically use bitcoin to pay for their purchases on their website.

They also are likely targeting users who are holding bitcoin and would likely not otherwise spend their money that they have tied up in bitcoin.

This is exactly what we need to take Bitcoin to the next level. Not only for places to accept it, but to offer a substantial discount in BTC giving people an incentive to buy! Awesome news!

Nah.. unlikely they hold any, as they're not in the business of speculating. Plus it's somewhat involved to hold bitcoin as well still. Especially for a big company such as that.
I think they just like it and want more people to use it. It would be great for them.

This is insane, I dont think they are selling much above cost at these prices and Im sure they will actually lose money on some items depending on if you can combine promotions.

Most companies do not allow you to combine promotions. I would find it very unlikely that they are loosing money on this deal. Merchants usually offer these kinds of deals because they want to get additional sales to their store, while remaining profitable. If they were loosing money on people taking up this offer then they would have on reason to offer it in the first place.

If  this type offer is given by more and more merchants, which will make more people buy BTC. You just buy Bitcoin at the exchange, and right away go to shopping and take offer, save you $75. No one won't do it.Good propaganda for BTC.

Hmm got that on the Bitcoin purchase screen just wondering if its the same for anyone else.

And let me be the first to say we do appreciate it!  Been looking for a tablet for a while and this might be the best option on a good deal I've found since I've started looking.  May check out one of those betting sites that claim you can win items for very low but this is still a solid sale.

It's not about really wanting a coin it's about getting to be reached to more consumer base who have no other payment option available or who rather choose bitcoin to pay over other available options

Aaaaand I just saw them take it off the home page.  So someone is working over there even though you can't get anyone on their "Premier Help" line.

That stinks..  Maybe it was two successful or something?  I think they should honor the deal to anybody that can show they made the transaction before the original advertised deadline.

They absolutely should as they have a written offer to the public.  Basic US business law.

I guess we will wait and see.  Maybe there is more to the story.

I would suggest contacting their customer service to see if they are able to honor the deal for you. Most companies will often make exceptions to people who complaint in order to preserve their reputation.

Seriously?? Why was this deal cut off? I going to place an order right now and chat with a customer rep in the early morning. Newegg customer rep as been pretty lax several years ago, but recently they did tighten up a bit. If they can't credit back the 30% after order is placed, then I'll just request them to cancel the order all together.

Probably due to people ordering for resale, infact if this deal is still running and you are Canadian i would like you to order some stuff for me and send it overseas.  :)

This kind of promotions are really good for Bitcoin, I hope more stores start doing the same, so people get interested in this currency.

I wouldn't disagree with this. I think the discount they were offering was likely greater then it should have been. Newegg likely saves 4-5% max on credit card fees when they accept bitcoin payments, but they were offering a 20%~ discount on purchases, so they were loosing potential revenue by offering the lower prices.

Good news, I like newegg when purchasing hardware, although the RMA is not very convenient
