Title: Mobile wallet survey
Post by: buysellbitcoin on August 29, 2014, 12:28:32 PM
Hi all,

We are working on a mobile wallet solution with aim to make it as simple as possible for newcomers to start USING Bitcoin. Its not your life savings wallet where you want to keep all your Bitcoin, we are positioning it as your spending wallet.

We would like to get opinion from fellow members :

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DJWK5BF

Thanks,
Mahin Gupta

Very short survey, but it captures the opinion nonetheless.

If implemented correctly, this can be the killer Bitcoin app everybody is waiting for.

Do not limit the functionality to phone numbers only; extend it to social services like Facebook.

Look at what Oxygen wallet is doing with fiat currency (https://www.oxigenwallet.com/)

Thanks mate for your opinion. We really want to make it as simple as possible. Our simple UI aim is minimum actions, options for users. In fact, we fight  a lot internally if some one wants to add even one action on UI and thats the only reason we do not want to give options for Social platforms etc.

We really believe Bitcoin needs to be explained in much easier way to users first and then we should gradually explain them the complex and benifical features.

People sometime use lengthy surveys which normally fails to get enough response. We wanted to make it to the point and wanted to get simple answer on whether there exist a pain point for newbies when they enter into bitcoin eco system. Our simple one line aim for this product is to make it as simple as possible without loosing security features.

Dear Mahin Gupta,

Great idea, we need these kind of solutions for newcomers to start using Bitcoin.
Instead of APP, you may develop like https://www.37coins.com  ; hence it can reach to villagers also.

Thanks for your feedback.

In our first phase, we really want to keep it as simple as possible. It depends on the way you are looking it. Personally I believe it is impossible to use Bitcoin by villagers in current scenario until and unless we have more convenient nexus points for them to convert Bitcoin to easily spendable cash. By introducing sms we dont want to complicate things. Also we dont think at this moment there exist a user base in villages who can actually use our product.

We have a very simple aim to achieve : It has to be dead simple for users to store and spend change amount of Bitcoin. Whether we will be able to achieve that or not, that remains to be seen :)

Thanks for your support and feedback, we appreciate it.

Regards

When are you guys going to release beta or alpha version of zebpay? It would be great if you release before zuck up. Will be quite helpful to be first mover if you plan round of funding.

Is BTCXIndia's focus on cream? As an exchange you have greatest responsibility to create awarenesses.  And seems like you just preparing to reap the benefit.

I personally think, you shoudl do some contributions rather than suggesting Mr. Gupta. Basic Bitcoin tutorial is cakewalk for those who can write trade-engine and other complex algorithm.

Look forward to your genuine contribution.
Best wishes!

I am not sure if the post is aimed at me or BTCXIndia.

In any case, I do agree current businesses should step up awareness campaign and will try try my best to resolve this complaint.

Mahin Gupta

This quote may extended my view

“In India, there are 100 million phones that are connected to the Internet, 2% of those people have a credit card or bank account and those people don’t have a desktop computer and they don’t have email,” Armstrong said in
http://www.coindesk.com/coinbases-75-million-series-c/

Today I have seen your announcement.Great to see.All the best.

Agreed. India does have potential but there are lot of hurdles when you do business in India in Bitcoin, but I guess 75 milion backing can solve lot of those issues :)
