Title: Did anybody else get this Dwolla Email?
Post by: Mousepotato on April 10, 2012, 04:28:03 PM
I just got this in Email and it links to a site that isn't Dwolla.com:

With growth comes new discovery. One of our discoveries as of late is that we know Dwolla account holders are looking for easier ways to understand who, and what, uses Dwolla.
Your account has been automatically updated to reflect the latest version of Dwolla highlighting people, and soon, places.
Simply log in to your Dwolla account to see the changes. (http://hxxp://dwolla.us1.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=76db41be3e3d000cb2fc7026f&id=b3ff2e1b49&e=885bf8b441)

I de-linked the actual link, but you can mouse-over it to view it.  Is this legit?

That's a MailChimp tracking link. If you are worried about it, just login to dwolla by typing their address into your browser manually. Poor form from a financial company though, to be sending links in an email. ::)

That's exactly what I was thinking. I turned off Javascript and clicked the link, and it does indeed go to Dwolla.com, but still it's no bueno to be sending links to a redirect site.

I use MailChimp with bitcoin100.org, but it sure the hell wouldn't be my first choice if operating a company with a large user base.

I thought that was odd as well. Oh well, I usually ignore Dwolla emails.

The arrival of Ashton Kutcher was delayed slightly, but the Hollywood actor, Iowa native and startup follower has arrived at a special Silicon Prairie News PrairieCast. He is chatting with SPN CEO Danny Schreiber about the news announced today that Kutcher was one of the investors during Dwolla's most-recent funding round.

I'm not sure what his expected ROI would be, but if Ashton were to buy X bitcoins, then announce that he backs Bitcoin, he would probably double his purchasing power.
