Post by: bb113 on April 10, 2012, 05:20:41 PM
Why is someone selling 1k bitcoins for $4.65 on btc-e right now?

The same reason Virtex has over 1000 coins below 4.75 for sale..

They have their own market over there. The price is usually $.10+ cheaper at the cost of much less liquidity and volume.
I haven't tried USD lately, but I know it used to be difficult to get money in. BTC was no problem, but that wouldn't help right now anyway.
If you got cash in there, it's a good arbitunity.   :P

BitInstant can be used to move Dwolla USD to BTC-E.  It was halted for a bit but that is back now.  After including the fees though the arbitrage opprotunity pretty much gets melted away with there being not much advantage over buying elsewhere.
