Title: Memory clock (Gigabyte 5870) Post by: anodyne on May 09, 2011, 12:12:18 AM I got a 5870 a while ago, good price and seems to run well at 970. But... I don't seem to be able to get the memory clock lower than 900MHz. I'm pretty sure I've seen lower numbers, but I can't get the slider to not bounce back when I try to apply a lower value.
Am I missing something, or is there something in Gigabyte's design that gets in the way? Can report nice results as well, not only is the card running the cooler about 15% slower with memory at 375MHz, but my PSU seems to have slowed its fan down to "idle" as well. So, I guess I can make a recommendation for memory underclocking for those that are unaware of it (as a small way of making this thread a litte less redundant... :)) |
