One of the major topics covered today on our sports radio powerhouse was Detroit pitcher Justin Verlander's schlong and his girlfriend Kate Upton's boob pics being leaked. Pretty funny yet disgraceful of the hacker to dip into peoples' personal privacy.

I think he saw what he thought was a market for this kind of pictures.

I do not disagree that what he did isn't cool, but I see him as a businessman who is trying to take advantage of others' interest in these kinds of pictures to make some bitcoin.

but this is what happens when you put your faith in something you don't fully understand. Most people will just take apples word that they're cloud is secure. Hopefully this opens some eyes to what is secure and what isn't

I feel bad about the celebrities, such as Kate Upton. But I am overjoyed that Apple was delivered a powerful slap to its face. After all those below the belt tricks they did to destroy the public acceptance of Bitcoin, I couldn't help but to celebrate the recent iCloud hack. I just hope that Apple's reputation would continue to go down the drain.

Wonder when we get to see the commercial "The hacking will be televised" and see some hacker "throwing" code into a site.

The Fappening...

Well... At least from now on the month of September will be remembered for something other than its eleventh day every year.

This is a bad month for Apple.  They have so much security and legal issues now.

If I don't want people to see me naked then I just don't send naked pictures or store them anywhere.

Any imperfectly configured system will have vulnerabilities. Seeing as there's no such thing as a "perfectly configured system", there is no existing system that offers exception to this statement.

Hmm.... so Reddit has taken down the sub-section which dealt with this issue. Although I am of the opinion that the privacy of these VIPs should be respected, the action taken by Reddit admins was disappointing. This is no different from the Swedish government prosecuting Piratebay admins and the United States authorities seizing Megaupload.  >:(

The ethereum project is getting funded very well. Soon a platform like reddit will not matter anymore. By the way there is another sub dealing with hacking porn images from people's phone all the time on reddit. None stop images of people who may never know their butts are online for all to see. They do not have the cash nor are famous. How come reddit does not shut this sub down? What is the difference?  ;)

Reddit is accountable to the US government. If there are copyright/trademark claims against certain images hosted on reddit then they could be held liable or copyright/trademark infringement. This is why these kinds of images are more widely available on torrents because it is much less efficient to go after a large number of people who seed torrents.

If it is so, then they should move their head quarters some neutral nation and move their servers there.

Very important point. So what Reddit is telling its users is that privacy doesn't matter for ordinary people, but that of the celebs must be protected at all cost. I have also heard about ethereum and its ethercoin, hope every thing is fine with them.

Copyright is the rule of law. There are very few countries that do not respect copyright laws. There are even less so that would be able to support the massive infrastructure required to be able to run a site as big as reddit.

Also following the law as reddit does, gives it a certain level of legitimacy which is one reason why people go to it for news and to post

I would say likely because they have likely not received a request to have the pictures removed.

The only time a site "needs" to remove content is if the site receives a valid request from the content's owner to take it down, if this does not happen they will not self censor what is displayed.

Reddit is not about privacy when you have a sub about hacking into people's phone exclusively. Reddit does clean ups though, like in the climate change sub by destroying any counter arguments , or in the video game subs when the subject was about the Zoe Quinn scandal (rather the game media industry scandal) a couple weeks ago, deleting thousands upon thousands of comments, links, non stop.

I gave two examples where it seems reddit cares...  ;)
