Post by: thebenjamincode on September 02, 2014, 02:45:47 PM

Nothing is safe in this constantly changing world while people are looking for ways to secure their system hackers are looking for ways to break into it

All sites are different, but blockchain.info is very safe if you set up all the security features. When people get their coins stolen they NEVER have 2-factor set up or any of the other features on. Set up 2-factor and this will probably stop almost all thefts.

I would say a wallet is more secure hence the amount of years it takes to bruteforce someones pass

the question was about an online wallet. if you are using an online hot wallet, you are susceptible to browser-based attacks. and since you are connected to the internet, malware applies.

the upside to an online banking site is that if you get hacked, the bank generally gives you your money back. ;D

Oh my bad, then I think an online wallet is more secure depending on the coders that work on it.

Online banks are easy to hack imo

Banking of course. They use token devices and/or digital signature and/or protocols for authentication.
Plus - your IP is logged everytime you open your account.

Banks also have the ATM and rogue employers as weak points, while banking fraud may be more lucrative(bank system has far more money than Bitcoin).

But we have much more invested on internet bank security than on Wallet security, too
