But it is true that he was raised as a practicing Muslim. His father (Barack Hussein Obama, Sr.) and his step-father (Lolo Soetoro Mangunharjo) were both practicing Muslims, although no record exist that his mother (Stanley Ann Dunham) converted to Islam at any point of time. Also, Obama spent considerable amount of time in his childhood with his grandparents, who were practicing Christians.

a lot of air strikes against ISIS, so I don't believe he has particular Muslim sympathies.
