What exactly are you trying to calculate? Bitcoin amounts work the same as any other decimal number.

Well, it's the fraction of a single Bitcoin. 1 (One) Bitcoin or is 1,00000000 BTC!, so 0,00011227 BTC are a fraction of a whole Bitcoin! You've effectively already answered your own question! :)

they just use the terms bitcoin, btcents, bitmills, satoshi's

1 Bitcoin = 100,000.000 (100 millions of satoshi )
0.1 - 10Bitcent (100BTM)
0.01 - 1Bitcent (10BTM)
0.001 - 1BTM (100K SAT)
0.0001 - 10k SAT
0.00001- 1kSAT
0.000001 100 SAT
0.0000001 10 SAT
0.00000001 -1 SAT

 :)

This nomenclature is  still very confusing for newbies, also "-1kSAT" lol, this doesn't sound neither look very aesthetically pleasing. We need something, something simple as fuck for the price thing.

You know, on a side note, you should REALLY be careful with your use of commas and periods when sending BTC from your client...

...though I'm guessing that you don't own enough BTC for this to be a concern.

Agree, it was confusing for me as well. Mostly due to fact that μBTC is only 100 satoshi, would be much easier if divided into 1000 (but its probably reserved for nanoBTC)

Just stick to mBTC, and μBTC and forget about satoshi, its garbage :)

mBTC is quite ease countable to dollar:

if 1 BTC cost 1000$, 1 mBTC is 1$
if 1 BTC cost 468$, 1 mBTC is 0.468$

after some time you automatically transfer it in your head.

Some people have discussed using the unit "bit" which is essential μBTC as the base unit, because many are used to the idea of 1 dollar = 100 cents and should be easy to get used to 1 bit = 100 sat.

if you mean to compare 1 bitcoin with dollars, it depends bitcoin exchange rate against the dollar which often fluctuated, for the price of 1 bitcoin now the dollar is 479,47, so if we compared between bitcoin and dollars, BTC/USD rate is 479.47, hopefully it will increasing by the time ...  ::)

This is 1฿ bitcoin.

You need 8907.0989578694219292776342745168 of 0,00011227 bitcoin to reach 1 whole bitcoin.

In my opinion, adding more units just makes it more complicated. Most of us don't even usually deal with uBTC units regularly (apart from faucet payouts).

My thought is someone who needs to ask this question, or has trouble understanding metric prefixes, is probably best served staying far far away from bitcoin.

So much for mass adoption.  That rules out like 80% of the global population.

20% of the world's population is more than plenty of users. Especially if they are the smart 20%.

True. We don't need to make everybody in the world use bitcoin.
iPhone is very popular internationally, but I am sure Apple hasn't sold 7 billion iPhones yet. :P

You don't need everyone in the world using them to sell 7 billion. Most people will buy a new phone every two years.
