Title: Can we change the transaction fee?
Post by: sifter on September 07, 2014, 06:28:52 AM
Sorry, I'm a no0b to the technical aspects of bitcoin,

But my question is; can we change the transaction fee to as least where the miners would take quick enough to confirm it without being worth a lot as a Fiat?
Say if the value of 1btc/$100000, I'm pretty sure the transaction fee of 0.0002 would be higher than my bank's.

I'm using an online wallet so that might be limiting me.

Sure, we can.
Which wallet do you use?
blockchain.info supports the change fees...

You can send transactions without any fees unless they are dust spam: very large in size, many small inputs. More fees = faster processing.

He is asking that if the bitcoin price will skyrocket, if we will be able to lower the fees so we won't have to pay 100s or dollars as a fee, the answer is yes we can.

Yes we can, that's not the problem, the problem is getting bitcoin to that price. Theoretically cant happen ..

If it can go from, $0.005 to $1200. Why can't it jump from 1200 to 10000
