In the article I preformed a critical examination of desktop wallets and found them to be nearly, if not completely, unusable by a blind person. Mobile wallet apps for android fared much better. These wallets had minor accessibility issues, but not anything that would prevent a determined user from figuring them out with some effort.
However, I did not really examine popular web wallets and other services related to Bitcoin. Most of my friends have less vision then me and have become interested in Bitcoin as a form of speculation. As a result, I have seen the accessibility of some online services. CEX.IO My friends, like most others who first hear about mining, were very interested. I know that their hardware would not support mining. I decided to send them to CEX.IO so they could cloud mine. I was nice and give them 5 GHS of mining power. While setting them up, I found that the website was accessible with a little bit of messing around. I found that the best way to get it to work properly is to use firefox with the NVDA screen reader for Windows. I noticed that some of the links on the site had been re-positioned oddly and had to do some hunting to find them. When they went to put in my voucher code it didn’t show the textbox correctly, however after a short amount of time we managed to get it to work.
