And that's some more evidence to say that the dox is fake. Anyone with access to MSpaint would have been able to censor this better. If someone had gone through the effort of hacking Satoshi he would have surely put more work on cesnoring this rather than spending 10 seconds using the brush tool in a basic paint application.

i can make out a name of anthony cea**. i too think it's a fake, for reasons i posted in the main thread.

either the guy who hacked this stuff is not very smart, or he sold it to someone who is not very smart on the darkweb. if you're going to post some incendiary shit like this, you have to know that a bunch of armchair detectives are going to do their work.

Its Geary.   For some reason your zoom-in's dont show the / of the y and the originals at the top do.

As a side note, there is no 4198 Bruce Street.   In fact no Bruce Street in St Louis.  Just a 4198 Bruce Ave.

This is actually very true. MSPaint would've basically replaced those pixels with black, or even using the eraser tool would've prevented this. Kind of reminds of some supposedly redacted FBI/somebody PDFs with photoshop and somebody added the black lines as layers, instead of directly on the original layer.

A quick glance at this writing style reveals its not him(satoshi).

someone should post this on /r/bitcoin and everywhere else, so the guy who is pulling this shit doesn't get those 25 BTC. he most likely doesn't have any personal information on satoshi, just access to his old e-mail account.

there's a way to get anthony's phone number and address, but probably not a good idea to post his personal info.. so i won't.

I overlayed the font Arial 12px over the image & everything is pixel perfect expect for the "c" in the address & the "1"'s in the address.

EDIT: The number "4" does overlay all the "1"'s perfectly which means the street number could be either "4198" or "4498".

Yeah, pretty sure that's not Satoshi, and whoever made those screen shots most likely deliberately botched the blacked out sections in an attempt to appear legitimate. It's a nice joke, but nothing more...

I would somewhat doubt that the hacker would actually release the name of someone who is not at all satoshi. If they are faking having satoshi's dox then they have nothing to gain by releasing any information once he has his money.

I'm prety sure that this "hacker" came to take advantage of the recent situation without having any actual information on the incident. He maybe thought that this would work as the fappening did, where an actual hacker asked people to pay a ransom in order to release the celebrity pictures. This guy should be happy with the ~1 BTC he got.

Interestingly, the Vice article explains this order and supposedly the explanation came from Satoshi himself.

"The first person with access to Nakamoto's email account told us that lead was “bullshit.” Adding that the email was from “a random guy who decided to use Nakamoto's email when ordering some mining equipment.” This Nakamoto fan insisted that “the real Satoshi isn't retarded enough to make a mistake like that.”
