The day is finally here - September 9 2014. We're mere minutes away from Apple's hotly anticipated iPhone 6 launch, an event which is being billed as the firm's most important announcement since the original iPhone.
I cannot wait to have it!

Despite of all the improvements they are trying to bring on the iPhone 6. I'd say the most important thing isn't a bigger screen infact we need a better battery which can last longer.
I don't have to pay more for a portable charger that I have to carry every where I go.

Looks the same as all the other ones! What a waste of money! Why do Americans these days always feel the need to get the latest iStuff? There is barely any difference between the very first iPhone and the latest model. A touch screen phone with internet... WOW!

I would not take Iphone if somebody gave it to me for free. Why because I have 4S and change 4 chargers because stupid thing always have error.. I dont like OS and it is to small. Good side is that Iphone always have good camera and it is fast. Don't forget he cost like gaming PC but when you selling it it is worthless( you selling it for 20% price that you pay)

ironically, i sold my contrac iphone5, bought some shit i actually needed, and picked up a Nokia Lumia 521 for 50 bucks and i've never been happier. it does exactly what i want it to do:

The battery life has been debated for a long time but it's likely the improvements were sacrificed for the larger screen (which the market demanded more of). Curious how many folks with Galaxy Notes will switch over to 6/6+, screen size was what drew many to the Galaxy Note. The Watch announcement was lackluster but as with all new "product categories," it's best to wait a generation or two before getting one.

It's cool and I'll use it buy only because I'll get it for free, it's not worth the money. Apple vs. samsung... they are both S***, had both and both broke down... Apple just looks a bit better compared to plastic samsung.

Can iphone(shit -phone) survive liquid damage? My S5 can! what about transfer of all contacts-emails-messages to another phone? Let see-Device not supported on shit phone screen. Android handle well- just change sim card and apply email or transfer between phones.

A little bit disappointed with the new iphone. I thought they would atleast bump the camera and the ram. But Apple clearly doesn't see the need for that.

Base 16GB model here is €700 which is pretty steep. For half that money I can buy myself a TOP android phone.

Design looks good, no compaints on that.

Meh, there's nothing too special about it to justify the price (other than the brand).

I think the iWatch is not that cool either, although there are some very neat concepts (tap your friends on the wrist wirelessly!)

I'm kind of surprised both phone almost have the same size and features.

Compare the specs between S5 and iphone 6, its unbeleivable that a couple month old phone is almost twice as powerful as the latest more expensive iPhone, camera, processer, and battery life are all around double the iPhones. The iWatch is overpriced and the pebble is a much better device.

The iPhone 6 is a nice phone - I won't deny it's better than most low end android phones, but $700 really.

It was funny watching all the local media and even the national news here in the US literally get in bed with Apple.  They said the watch was revolutionary and had never been done before (apparently they missed Samsung's watch).

If the media is feeding the sheeple then there's no better sheeple plug-in than an I-sheep Iphone.

My gf's computer HDD spoilt, and she changed a new HDD and reinstalled iTunes. Then she tries to transfer song from her ipod to her comp, iTunes don't allow it. And when she downloaded some songs and wants to transfer to ipod, iTunes says it will delete everything from her ipod if she chooses to do so lol.

I encountered my first iPhone, yesterday. Oddly enough, it was my dad's and he was trying to figure out how to get text messaging icon back on the hot bar. It looked and worked exactly like an Android -- only took a second. They pay for expensive AV subscriptions, too, though... we only just convinced them to stop that yesterday. :D

It's too big. Well, at least not as big as the iPhone 6 Plus, yet still too big! I think the iPhone 5s has the perfect size. They should've made the iPhone 6 Plus the size of the iPhone 6 and just leave the rest of the field to the iPad mini.

It is a great phone at a huge price, it is better to get the equivalent in BTC which will buy 10 iphones in a few years

Bigger and significantly higher-powered radios, next-gen batteries (LiPo is soooo 2000-aught), built-in pop-out directional antennas, black & white LED screen option where black is "off" to save energy, make screen a module which can be popped in and out -- underneath are basic, super-thin (but still tactile) buttons for taking calls and dialing (or hologram, customizable virtual keyboard if inexpensive), better selection of ports, everything in phone stripped (incl. sensors) or not upgraded to next-gen (keep last-gen tech in consistent production to minimize costs) except radios, processor, memory, and screen.

Nano-printer/scanner would be damn useful, too, even if it only does b&w by burning it into a special paper or something.

We just got the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3C which blows the iPhone away anyway in my opinion.

In your opinion yes, the Sony is better. But using benchmarks and actually testing, no, not even close to being better.

New innovation comes at a cost. Wether it be more expensive or take away from the user experience. Adding a lot of those features would take a toll on battery life or data usage. I would rather have a perfectly functioning phone that lasts all day without charging instead of a few bells and whistles that I would use once and then become bloatware.

I don't need an IR blaster because my iPhone is already my remote because I watch tv on my 4K connected to my Mac. I don't need a curved screen because then that would make the phone thicker in my pocket. I don't need an SD card because I have the cloud and I'm never in an area without service. I don't need a two sided screen because I can only see one at a time anyway. I already have great battery life so you can cross that out on the list. I don't need DVR because I already have one on the TV and I can watch them on my phone using plex. I don't need 5G because Verizon LTE on iPhones get about 100mb/s, faster than 99% of ISPs. The only thing I would ask for is waterproofing but nobody has figured out a way to do this and the speakers sound good.

It all comes down to opinions..

Benefits of the Sony
Significantly better camera.
Significantly better battery life.
Significantly better audio.
Significantly more RAM.
Arguably better screen.
SD card slot.
