Since the beginning of 2009.And which industry are you in? Did you change industry at all during that period?And for those older folks, how much raise did you get during the 2004-2009 period?

Electrical, about 10-15%.  Same company.

Lots - 5 years ago I was unemployed, today I am not.

It dropped dramatically.Of course, I retired in that time frame.

I had a work and now I haven't and I'm trying to earn something with the cryptocurrencies.

I started in education, as a middle school teacher with a masters degree. I was making 32k a year. 10% of that! the school district kept "for me" in the general retirement fund.
I switched into manufacturing, have worked from the floor up to quality manager, and now make a little over 70k.

At the beginning of 09 I was unemployed, now making about 45k/yr... so definite improvement

2009 to 2014? Probably around +40%, although it's currently not at it's peak. I took a pay cut in 2012 going from contractor to permanent salaried employee.

I've been with my company for seven years. I started as Desktop Support making about $48k/yr. I'm now a System's Administrator making $70k/yr. I gave me two weeks notice to my boss last week because I'll be making $115k/yr. at my new company.

An average american working in retail is happy if they even get a 2% raise a year (not counting management positions), which does not even beat inflation.

You would not have been able to invest all of your salary on bitcoin. If you did do this then you would not have been able to pay for your living expenses.

Had most prestigious and well-paying job before graduating high school as administrative clerk. Quit because there wasn't enough risk, creation, or excitement -- very tedious. Have never made as much since, and every normal job since has been even less stimulating. I can't even get a job just handling payroll, now. Hindsight... :D Down ~60% doing odd jobs.

Was laid off end of 2008, hired on as a 1099 in jan. Making about 40% more per week plus benefits and paid as an employee today. same job different industry .

salary that I received since 2004-2009, not so much barubah, it depends on how big the development of the company where we work, the higher the development of the company, the larger the change in the salary that we receive ... I think if we had an alternative job another promising greater change in salary that we receive, we should have moved jobs to a better direction ...

I changed from mining to defence sector and hold a BEng + MEng.

Size of projects I have been a technical lead on has varied a lot, $700M down to $30M then back up to $1B now back to $30M, yet my pay has only gone up by 3% in past 5 years. The GFC fallout still lurks in my country with stagnant pay-packets despite CPI of 2.5% each year.

dont worry there are many ways to get some few bucks, like with your current rank you can join sig campaigns and also look for a new job :P

I've been looking into this and all the major sig campaings are gone or full, plus it will take months for me to even be Full Member which is when you can get a little bit more than peanuts, I don't really know activity works im just posting normally.

From employed to businessman. my income went to 800% up to 1000% . But if I am going to pay a salary to myself, it would be 150% increase. Im in the field of graphic arts as an employee and now Im running an internet cafe.

Increase about 6% per year so thats about 30%...

Wage inflation has been very low over the past 5 years and has generally hovered around roughly 2% which is less then the CPI inflation rate. On a net effect most people in the US has a lower salary when adjusted for inflation.

Could we live a better life relying on the comparatively steady salaries?
There is no way to guarantee our life after retirement if you do not invest on something which could bring more to you. That's one of the reasons why we invest on stocks and maybe bitcoin as well. 


 

of course my current salary is higher than five years ago, because the price of goods has increased when compared to 5 years ago, plus my income of bitcoin by following sig. campaign like in this forum, hopefully I will be on the increase salaries annually ...  8)

Work increases to fill the time available to do a job.
Expenses increase to make sure that your new salary is fully spent.  :)

mine increased in spikes up to 1000% comparing to 2010 and now is being pretty volatile

More than 50%. I was lucky I went into the right industry that practically pays you according to the salary scale based on your newly acquired skills and training plus also the experience. So bitcoin is considered like an extra hobby for me rather than fully depending on it.

Since 2004 it's gone up over 150%. I'm now making over 250% of what I was in 2004. Same industry, different role. 2009 was a no-raise year for us due to the recession.

Five years ago I was earning 4k USD per month.3 years ago 3k USD per month.1 year ago I was earning (average) 6 k USD per month with premium.Now I am working on my own, at my own risk...

I work harder, more strassed I earn 3 k USD but hopefull for the future....
