Title: Litecoin mining rig
Post by: wec on September 10, 2014, 10:05:11 PM
Hey guys, im new here and i fell in love with this community !

Now, im thinking about in going for some mining, i've already looked out into it and i came to the conclusion that litecoin is the most secure one. I rly enjoy dogecoin as well but you guys usually say that is risky to go for it as an investment and i can understand why...

Can you guys help with a 500$ - 700$ mining rig for litecoin ?

and with that mining rig what hashrate would i have approximately ?

Thanks :)

My 2 satoshi's...

If you're looking to mine LTC then purchasing a Scrypt ASIC is the ONLY way to go now. You will see a far greater return using specialzed mining hardware, versus building a PC with the sole purpose of mining. That's not to say either option will be profitable for you, because most likely it wont be.  If you really believe in LTC your best option is to buy it outright and hold.

check out Bitmain L1 120 MH for 599.00 USD ship in Dec or you can try Hashlet.

In my opinion december is too far in the future

As long as KNC not ship LTC miners that ok for me and I had some Hashlets  by GAWminers.

I believe the best you can find per Mh for ASICs are the gridseeds. For example, the link below has them at ~8/Mh when buying 10
I dont know the company, I'm linking them as example
Zoomhash also used to have them but it's not listed anymore

knc might not ship, but VBs probably will

If I was to jump in right now and start mining I would purchase this http://oneminer.com/ (http://oneminer.com/)

No, thank you and too much power use.

Under his price range and to mine right now I don't think there's a better option other than buying hashlet solos http://gawminers.com/pages/hashlet-solo (http://gawminers.com/pages/hashlet-solo) which would be less hashing power, and if he was to build a "rig" he'd be looking at 2x-3x the power.

2x Thunder x6 would put him at 40MH/s and 900w + 2x 500w power supplies and he's be right at $700.

a "Rig" with 3 R9 290's would put him at say 2.5MH/s and 1400watts at $1500.

33 Hashlets would be 33MH/s, at no power consumption but $.08 service charge/day/Mh, and cost $700

A2s have good power comsumption  but are too expensive

Mining LTC (scrypt in general) is a lost cause... Just sayin' (watch the graphs)

Ya, I'd recommend running on some type of multicoin pool.

I've used several different types of miners in the past. For better or worse, at this point I've invested in zen hashlets myself which "mine" at the zenpool. After dealing with physical miners in my home and dealing with ups and downs and researching/mining new coins at release its nice to find a miner that I can just set and forget. I just don't have time right now to mess with dealing with things going up and down and constantly researching things as it becomes very time consuming.

the thing is that i keep seeing many guys saying that hashlets is a waste of money like any other cloud mining and its not trustworthy. im not understanding what really are hashlets yet as well, some are more expensive than others and i cant see why... and im not sure about the profit

Better wait for december when all the major ASIC manufacturers would have released the pre-orders and ROI could be predicted based on network difficulty. At this time nothing could be said about ROI as many Asics are about to hit the market.
