Today I received 2 deposits into my blockchain.info wallet, 30 minutes apart.

The first for 0.0000002 BTC (6 zeros) , and the 2nd for 0.00000002 BTC (7 zeros).

The first from BTC SmartInvest, the 2nd from btcsmart.net

The first is still an Unconfirmed Transaction, the 2nd has a few confirmations.

The 1st arrived shortly after I'd sent btc from my account to a company having no connection to these entities.



I know nothing about these companies and was not expecting any deposits.


I assume this is involving some sort of hacking attempt in some way, or something sketchy.


I have 2 factor authentication - withdrawals have a code sent to my cellphone, so I assume I'm safe.



Does anyone have any idea what this is about? Any measures I should be taking?

Do you post a new topic each time when you receive spam emails or junk mails irl?

So you're stating that this is a means of spamming, hoping I'll visit their site?

The first name BTC SmartInvest I found no url. The other btcsmart.net there were many urls in different countries.

So you're saying this is normal?

How did they obtain my wallet address - by studying the blockchain and recording every wallet address they come across?

This is all new to me (not btc but receiving "spamming deposits", if that's what this is).
It made me paranoid and wondering if I had some sort of security risk, which is apparently not the case based on your post.

I would advise all reading this not to go the website. I'm not going to.

It's not supercommon (like email-spam), but it happens every now and then.

Exactly. They most likely use a script or computer program to collect all addresses and then send their spam-transaction to some of them (perhaps addresses that recently showed activity).

There is no security risk. These tiny transactions usually don't even get any confirmations, so they'll drop out eventually once nodes stop rebroadcasting them.

Its just another form of advertising since blockchain.info allows tagging addresses with an URL.

absolutely they can be hyip company or one investment company. trying to lure you into their fold. Just beware and move any money you have in that btc wallet to a safe unknown wallet.

I am pretty sure this is from laxotrade. There have been many reports of them spamming people's address with small transactions. The amounts received are very small.

This is quite normal and has actually happened for a long time. Best thing to do is ignore them :)

Thanks for this topic. Today I received two unconfirmed transactions from "BtcSmart - Multiply your money" and now I understand that it is just a spam.
