Here are some lines telling my take on Monero.

Monero has bitcoin-rich people with connections
Monero has trolls spreading FUD - it tells me how the trolls feel the threat
Monero has excellent name
Monero's emission curve is currently very appealing for investors
The devs do not control the currency but investors like you and me

Why do you like Monero, please share your thoughts why Monero is the number one crypto (potential even replace bitcoin)?

excellent name? i don't think so. Monero is actually a little weird.

what i think?
it is one of the oldest altcoins which has stayed alive.
it is the only proper anonymous coin which has real features for making your transactions truly untraceable.
but it has serious scaling issues which is a big downside to it.

all in all i believe Monero is a decent coin compared to rest of the altcoins and it has always been a good investment as far as price is concerned. there has been good rises which don't fall down to bottoms after the rise which is a good sign.

 I think that Monero is appealing in the sense that its different from a lot of cryptocurrencies including bitcoin itself, in the sense that it is based on CryptoNote protocol which posses significant algorithm differences related to blockchain. Monero is different from public ledger cryptos such as btc, addresses associated with undesired activity can be blacklisted by the community. Monero is one of a kind cryptocurrency and its good to see the value currently pumping.

Monero is the hottest crypto in the world of altcoins. One of my friend has started mining Monero  on a normal PC and is getting good amount  of coins. So it means Monero is still good to mine on a normal average PC (as my friend mining does not have a high end Pc)

That is because Monero is based on CryptoNight which also works well on CPUs and not just on GPUs or ASICS, it doesn't mean the coin is a good investment just because more people can mine it. I don't see the correlation between the two.

When it comes on algorithm it does really use different from bitcoins which this coin signifies fully true anonymity which there are lots of people already do consider this coin and even it is already being used on dark web/net because of its capability on not giving any trace of the transactions.Since the thread is already 3 years old then hes assumption was true and if he did invest that time then for sure he made some profits.

You forgot to mention that Monero has a nice and simple logo.  ;)

But yeah, I do agree with you and would like to add that Monero is advanced in terms of security and anonymity as well. Every transaction is untraceable and always private. Unlike bitcoin or ethereum, if I spend too much on Amazon or Newegg, it is my own business and nobody else can snoop on my transaction history and judge me. Some people call Monero "freedom money."

Cool logo and name.  I think privacy will be the last one standing and king in the next few years.

Yes, Monero was underestimated for a long time. Now we see the growth of this coin. And it is very joyful. The potential of this coin will show the moon. I bought for 100 dollars. Not at the very bottom. But today's value makes me very happy.

Monero is an excellent coin but not totally anon.

XVG is the best for me and it's not even reached it true potential yet. Totally ANON.

As far as I know, the monero was created in order to hide the true senders and recipients of coins. This is often used by the mafia for money laundering and terrorist organizations. But, on the other hand, it is protection from taxes.

Monero does not have a premine, ICO or a developer's tax.
Monero is maintained by the community by means of their donations.

I like monero because the development of the coin is always on going with community that are so committed they could sell their right hand for monero.

I also like Monero, but I do not share your viewpoint — I mean the idea that this alt can replace Bitcoin. I love it for the coolest anonymity, the reason why people deal with it, and the reason why this crypto has shown us its high jump.

With Bitcoin if someone knows my address, they can look up every single one of my transactions, I love how Monero is private/anoymous
