Title: PrimeDice Faucet Scam
Post by: 100 on September 11, 2014, 08:00:05 AM
The new version of PrimeDice got recently a lot of attention for their leveling system.

You start at level 0 and based on the amount that you wager and how active you are in the chat your level increases.

The higher level you get the more you will get from the faucet that you can claim every 60 seconds starting starting at a few at level 0 and goes up to the maximum of 0.0001 BTC at level 40.

A lot of people instantly fell for this and started to spend more hours and more bitcoins then they actually should because of the leveling system that would promise a higher bitcoin faucet.

When finally some people started to reaching higher levels after spending a bunch of days in the chat room + loosing several bitcoins they can finnaly claim there 0.00002 BTC faucet, and guess what PrimeDice will do now? Well of course its time to lower the the faucet by a big amount + increased the waiting time from 60 seconds to 180...

That is like saying at level 30 we will give you a 0.1 BTC reward when people starting to get around level 25-28 ... Admins can say never mind we choose to change the reward to 0.0001 BTC instead.

It's free money, Primedice can choose to do whatever the hell they want, you aren't losing anything. It's not there for you to make money.

Excuse me... no it is not "free money" ... This is money that we are promise to get for SPENDING our own Bitcoin to level up and a lot of hours in the chatroom.

I have lost a lot of Bitcoins trying to level up and other people have lost way more then me.

When the faucet was made to reduceits simple cheating in my eyes , guys lost their 10-10 btc and got somehow 40 level or near , now the site reduced faucet , isnt it cheating ?

Primedice can do whatever they want, take all you money and you can't do anything about it so I don't this crying about lowering free faucet will help you

That's PD's prerogative isn't it
If you are gambling because you want to access a larger faucet, you are beyond all help!

I still don't get this argument. Who would risk substantial amounts of money with the sole purpose to increase their faucet?

Title: Re: PrimeDice Faucet Scam

I don't get why so many people are irritated by getting less of something free?

They are running a faucet from their own pockets, you're a moron for calling it a scam.
The reason it's been lowered is probably because of grubs like yourself, who sit online 24 hours a day claiming the bonus.

It's the society we live in. When something changes, it is a scam. When people lose out on free stuff, it must be a scam! If you call it a scam...undoubtedly, you probably tried to scam it yourself. Glad Stunna did this. Keeps the mangy little mutts out and keeps it a thriving site for people who actually use it for what it is meant to be used for

That's what I am hoping for. The secondary effects of this will be that the shitty people in the community will finally leave. Woot!

You can not call this scam, because Stunna can or can not give you some coins to play. Stunna can do everything he wants.

Keep mind that this isn't the best solution to earn something.. this is only an incentive to play in primedice casiṇ.

The level system and faucet reward associated with it is similar to the deposit bonuses, rakeback, etc. you get from other gambling sites. These bonuses are often used by players to improve their chances of a net win, even if their gambling leaves them at a loss. It's perfectly reasonable for such players not to have expected Primedice to change the rules with little notice, no compensation to those heavily affected, and not even any kind of apology for the way things were handled.

In hindsight, it's clear that the initial terms of the new site were poorly thought out to the point of being unsustainable, and they didn't really have any plan for how to handle things when changes needed to be made, but that's a long way from being a 'scam'. While I understand the disappointment of those who have contributed to the site and have been seriously affected by the changes, and urge the PD team to do what they can to ensure everyone's treated fairly and smooth this over, I think it's in everyone's best interests to continue to support the site and give them time to get things right. Anyone who's been around Primedice for even just a little while can see that, although the early days of PD3 have been shaky, when things are going right it's a solid, quality, genuine site, still one of the best places to play dice, and you know, if the site were to shut down, you wouldn't have any bonuses at all. :)

These accounts that are moaning about this are obvious shills. Just look at them all just signed up with a few posts. Plus, do you really think people who lost or won big amounts are that bothered about their pathetic little faucet amounts? These trolls are just using this as an excuse to attack PD nothing more.

You promote your rank by gambling (loosing money for most) so you can get 0.0001btc every 3 minutes? Those who has been "scammed" haven't thought things through before they gamble. Gamblers have nothing to gain from this promo.

You will not win in the long term gambling against the odds.  Please, stop now before you lose more.  All the bonuses, enticements, lucky rabbit feet, triple 7s, praying, etc will not change the mathematics.  Find a place that allows you to invest in the bankroll and play on the winning side.

PrimeDice has the right to discontinue its faucet program whenever it likes
Gamblers should exercise self-control and gamble responsibly, not blame the operators

I almost quoted flipper instead since I do think a lot of the abuse could have been foreseen, but this post is a better response to the OP.

Of course you are pissed that you are now getting less free money.  I like free money too, but Stunna said repeatedly that the faucet was costing a lot and would change.  In fact, the top faucet is STILL the same.  The major change is you have to, you know, gamble on the gambling site to get higher levels and a higher faucet - spamming the chat no longer advances levels (as much or at all, not sure) and that is a change I fully support.

Your complaint would have more validity if you posted your stats with all your high rolling action that you've done in order to get such a high faucet.

Stunna has done nothing wrong other than be way too generous to a community that is happy to turn on him like dogs.

Maybe he will accept more people in signature campaign now, who knows what's in his head. Not sure it's cool to piss off so many people with all those reductions, they will start to write shit on forum.

Who care's what they write on the forum. People that play PD3 for what it is made for, is where he makes his money anyway. I have a hard time believing people will stop playing because they got their satoshi lowered because they spammed the chat. If you play...your faucet won't be affected. If you just chat, then yeah your faucet is nothing now. Everything will be fixed, eventually. He had to shut it down for a minute. No biggie to me.

Primedice probably wouldn't have changed the faucet settings if people didn't abuse it by tipping al their 'earnings' to another account. You should 'thank' those people instead of blaming Primedice.

Another thing is that you are talking about a gambling site, not a faucet site. You don't see people walking aroun in real life casinos asking people for change and tips (atleast not without them being thrown out).

Title: Re: PrimeDice Faucet Scam

This website gave out free money and now gives out less but still considerably decent free money. Such a scam!

We're working on a re-work of the faucet system anyways which should be pretty cool. (less frequent but higher rewards through a minigame).

Honestly, if you truly do feel this way then I can't be happier that you are quitting the website.

By the way I'll clarify one thing, the reason you might notice your faucet is significantly nerfed in not just counter but amount is if you posted a ton of very short spammy chat messages to get your faucet count up. If you wagered 1000 coins and made zero chat messages or any amount of chat messages longer than 2-3 words your faucet shouldn't be effected much beyond cooldown.

Just an fyi, you don't have to spend your own btc to gain levels. It's based on your total wager, meaning, you can gain levels simply from using the free btc the faucet gives you anyway. You losing your own btc to gain a higher faucet was your own decision. Nowhere did Stunna sign a contract stating that he can't change the faucet, and I don't blame him for changing it, people were outright robbing him. If you are going to blame anyone for "scamming" you, blame the the farmers who were abusing the faucet.

If you play with money you can't afford to loose, don't blame anyone but yourself. If a site/company decide to change how they do things, sure it's not fun for anyone who got in in the first place but remember that they owe nothing to you. They are free to do what they want. The only thing that can happen is less customer if people are not happy with the way they handle their site.

I can understand the OP.

It's like someone says: Buy your hardware in our shop, we guarantee four years of free maintenance.

And then after everyone bought their hardware in his shop he says: There is no longer a free maintenance.

Some just gambled their money on primedice because of the faucet, else they might have gambled on another site.

As Stunna and many others have said before me "PD's faucet was never promised to be a certain amount, nor was it intended for ppl to use to pay their rent".  Nowhere on the site does it say you are promised or guaranteed anything with the faucet.

Except it's not like that because there was no guarantee or warranty. A more apt analogy would be owning a hardware shop but getting rid of a vending machine outside because people were finding ways to steal from it and it was costing you a lot of money.

If so many people are gonna cry about it Stunna should just take it back to the 1k faucet.

Sure, I'll be butthurt for a day or two, but I'll get over it.  I just really hate all the spam and rage members are throwing out there.  Like fuck, be grateful Stunna ever gave you the opportunity to have a big faucet to begin with.

The faucet is a way to be able to try out the site before using your "real" money to bet with. It allows you to see the look and feel of the site to see if you like it. Once you start using your own money you really should not be using the faucet because you already understand how everything works.

A more accurate way to describe the faucet is a free trial.

Makes no sense if I shouldn't use the faucet after a deposit...

PD can do what ever they want. Its better than closing the entire casino. 0.0001 faucet is unsustainable especially with only a 0.91% house edge

It's a bonus more than a free trial or anything else, and it's certainly not guaranteed. People still get more faucet money the more active they are.

I think the mindset behind them giving your greater faucet amounts when you wager more money is to get you to try new strategies involving more money when you wager more.

I personally think it is kind of a broken concept because you could simply wager less and get the same result of any specific strategy.

Primedice is becming more and more dodgey. First, they encourage users with all this 'build up chat faucet' BS then they take it away?! Stunna knew it would be abused by people wanting to level up -you telling me he didnt predict this?

I have had dodgey rolls on auto bet where it has made the wrong bets, I emailed support, showed them the roll numbers and yet to recieve a reponse, perhaps they are still looking into it..

On another note, I supported PD very much, on their previous site, PD2, I have over 400btc wagered. However, one day I was chating on PD3 and sent a link to discussion on bitcoin forum about issues with verification, I was promptly muted by stunna himself much to my amazment -I was only bringing the topic up to discuss it but the prompt muting made me suspect something more. There was talk about how 'stunna forgot to update the verification link' on the website -Oops right? No, in my opinion pure tardy and very suspiscious.

Here is the discussion;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=747589.0

Like I said, when I brought this up in a civil manner on the website I was very quickly muted by Stunna who claimed I was 'spamming'. I never knew discussion about a potentially huge issue was spamming.. be that as it may...

I am loosing respect for PD. There are many issues I have seen from users lately..
I hope they will contact me soon regarding their flaws on autobet -it was only a few hundred satoshi so I didnt care about the 'money' but was only pointing it out to them...
