Guess I better check out overstock now that they are accepting bitcoin globally.

I wonder how much Apple paid Patrick to say that bullshit about Apple Pay being some great new thing. NFC has been around and functional for years. The only thing Apple can help bring to the world of payments is more centralized choke points for hackers to exploit.

If I recall correctly, the thumbprint scanner on the iPhone 5 was completely cracked within 24 hours of the phones release. You could take anybody's phone, even remotely, and bypass the scanner with a single click. For Patrick to say that it would stop somebody from accessing cloud data, or payment data, is just absurdly stupid.

I hope his bonus from Apple was worth it...

Patrick isnt much of a technology guy so he might be ill-informed. But i'm sure hes a cooperate guy who shills for big cooperations. Have you read his stuff or followed him, you would know.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence. You are probably right. Patrick probably is just shilling for corporate buddies and there isn't some conspiracy going on here. It is just frustrating to see him give us all this support and then do a sort of heel turn on us when Apple shows up.
