Title: Mohamed and Homosexuality
Post by: Wilikon on September 13, 2014, 03:01:40 PM
O.K. why is it that homosexuality is such a problem with religious conservatives when he never directly condemned it, but they can get divorces, fight wars, judge people, and hold wealth when Mohamed did condemn it.

 ;)

EDIT:

The pink mafia is allergic to islam.

This thread is an answer to that thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=781161.0

It is so much easier to attack Christians when you know no one will push a fatwa for your beheading. You can make movies, paintings, big threads on bitcointalk and whole Broadway shows attacking Christians. When they open their mouths "Hey! Look! See! How those Christians are evil? Told ya!".

If only the pink mafia was undeviating no matter the religion on this planet.

According to the Islamic laws, homosexuality is not only a sin, but a crime as well. Interpretations vary in different countries and sects, but in most of the Islamic nations (Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan.etc), homosexuality carry the death penalty by default.

But it is quite interesting to note that none of the gay rights activists have voiced against the oppression faced by homosexuals in these Islamic nations. On the other hand, they have organized boycott against Russia, where homosexuals are far more tolerated.

+1. I don't know whether he is proud but he did copy! :)

You can see how the wars started. Muslims were forced to do the war. If you check the battlefields, then you can see the Muslims were closer to battlefields and the enemies were too far from the fields. At that time where there is no airlines and all, I will say they are tooooo far. They came to battlefields after walking and riding to just attack Muslims. And, when Muslims won, they didn't killed the prisoners of the war, they taught them how to write and read and if they have the knowledge, they were subjected to teach children. You can see how nicely they treated the prisoners. Divorces are good thing in l some situations but the thing is greatly hated by god and prophets. A person can only make divorces until there is no other choices that the couples can't tolerate each other. There is many steps before they make divorces like talking with wife etc...  Homosexuality is worst thing. If one started being homosexual then the love between the couple will eventually lost. It is a try scientific fact. Islam always try to potect the love from being lost or broken. Evry bad things must be prevented. If you have anything to ask, please free feel to ask. :)

Ahmadinejad Admits Iran Has Homosexuals, Just Not as Many Because “It’s Against Human Spirit and Humanity”

TEHRAN — Iran’s hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that homosexuality is “against the human spirit,” the ILNA news agency reported.

In a 2007 speech at New York’s Columbia University, he notoriously said “in Iran we don’t have homosexuals like in your country,” skirting a question about the treatment of gays in the Islamic republic. infamously

He was met with howls and boos from the audience and his remarks were later widely criticised by rights groups.

Addressing officials in the city of Yazd on Thursday, he said: “They asked me (at Columbia) why you crack down on homosexuals in Iran? I answered we don’t have so many homosexuals in Iran because we believe this act is against the human spirit and humanity.”

Gay sex is banned and punishable by death under Iran’s sharia-based law.

Kenya: Muslim Leaders Ask Government To Introduce Death Penalty For Gays…

(Times Live) — Muslim leaders in Kenya have called on the government to introduce the death penalty for homosexuals and to boycott their businesses, media reports said Monday.

“Death is the only punishment prescribed by Islam for such people as done in China and Iran,” the Daily Nation quoted Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa, of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, as saying.

“We are asking Kenyans to shun businesses owned by such people and further show them open discrimination as a way of stopping the beastly act,” he told reporters at an anti-homosexual workshop.

“They grossly abuse rights of others and should not be accepted among the society,” he said.

The workshop was attended by more than 150 madrassa teachers and was called to address the problem of sexual abuse of boys.

Another participant at the work shop, Sheikh Majid Obeid also blamed Kenya’s recent drought on “illicit activities.”

“The rising cost of living and drought are due to the behaviour of these Kenyans who are not ready to change,” he said.

Iranian Soccer Players Face Public Lashings For Post-Match “Groping”…

TEHRAN — Two Iranian soccer players who engaged in “inappropriate” celebratory behavior during a game broadcast on national television might face public lashings on the pitch, the semiofficial Fars News Agency reported Tuesday.

Members of parliament, sports officials and judges have called for the “swift punishment” of Mohammad Nosrati and Sheys Rezaei, two soccer stars who play for one of Iran’s most popular clubs, Tehran-based Persepolis.

After one of their teammates scored the winning goal of a 3-2 match on Saturday, ending a long losing streak, Nosrati pressed his hand into Rezaei’s behind as they and their teammates jumped on one another in celebration.

As millions watched on television, Nosrati appeared to be trying to push his hand between Rezaei’s buttocks. It remained unclear Wednesday whether Rezaei had engaged in a similar action earlier in the game.

Iran’s football federation immediately suspended both players for an unspecified period and fined them nearly $40,000 each, Fars reported. According to the federation’s Web site, the ban is indefinite because a final decision cannot be made until “other authorities” are consulted.

Iran: Homosexuality A Plot By The Zionist Regime To Control The World…

BERLIN – A report in a state-controlled Iranian paper last week asserting that the “Zionist regime” “spreads homosexuality” across the globe in order to pursue its goal of world domination has sparked fierce criticism from experts on Iran because of its homophobia and anti- Semitism.

Mashregh News, an outlet affiliated with radical Islamists in Qom, wrote that the US and the UK are using money from Jews to spread homosexuality throughout the world. The article blasted Israel for promoting demonstrations for gay rights and specifically decried Tel Aviv as the gay paradise on earth. It also ridiculed Conservative Judaism for accepting gay rabbis, and urged Western governments to stop people from engaging in gay – and therefore immoral – actions, and provide medical treatment for homosexuals in order to stop their conduct.

Writing on Monday on the gay website GGG, Chris Karnak said the Mashregh item “reads like an article from the Nazi agitation paper Der Stürmer.”

Dr. Wahied Wahdat-Hagh, an expert on minority groups in Iran, told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday that the article is “against gays, against the West and anti-Semitic.” He added that “the text legitimizes the execution of gays in Iran; they made a text not only to ridicule the West but to provide a reason why Iran executes gays.”

Study: Pakistan World Leader For Google Searches Of Gay Porn, Highest Number Of Hits Comes From Areas Dominated By Conservative Islam…

According to Mother Jones magazine, surprising data reveals Pakistan, one of the world’s least tolerant nations toward gays, is the world leader for Google searches of gay porn.

This month, the Pew Research Center published results of a public survey of gay tolerance in 39 countries worldwide, the question being “Should society accept homosexuality?”

Among the least tolerant nations surveyed was Pakistan, where only 2 percent of those surveyed said
society should accept homosexuality.

But surprisingly, according to Google Trends Pakistan is by volume the world leader for Google searches of the terms “shemale sex,” “teen anal sex,” and “man fucking man,” Mother Jones found.

According to the article, in Pakistan, the highest number of hits for some of these terms, including “shemale sex,” come not from Pakistan’s cosmopolitan centers, but from Peshawar, a bastion of conservative Islam, lately known in the West as a counterterrorism frontline.

Pakistan Blocks Gay Website For Being “Against Islam”…

Islamabad (AFP) – Pakistan’s Internet watchdog has blocked the deeply conservative Muslim country’s first website aimed at gay people, saying it was “against Islam”.

The queerpk.com site, set up to help members of Pakistan’s homosexual and transgender community socialise and share experiences, was shut down on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority said they had halted access to the site after complaints from Internet users.

“We blocked the website under the law because its content was against Islam and norms of Pakistani society,” said spokesman Kamran Ali.

Homosexuality is illegal in Pakistan.

Queerpk.com’s moderator, who asked not to be named, said he would not challenge the ban in the courts for fear of a “negative reaction”.

“We wanted to provide a platform for people who are being abandoned by society because of their sexual likes,” he told AFP.

“I was not hopeful about the future of the website, I was convinced that sooner or later it would be banned.”

Yemen: Islamist Gunman Executes Man Suspected of Being Gay…

(AFP) — A Yemeni security official says a gunman in the southern province of Lahj killed a man suspected of being gay, the latest in a series of attacks on homosexuals in the country.

Eyewitness Ahmad Hadi said that Waleed Saleh Awedan, 25, was shot by a man riding a motorbike near his home on Monday evening. The official spoke anonymously because he was not authorised to brief reporters.

At least 34 people have been killed in similar attacks in the past two years, many in the southern provinces, which have been under intermittent Al Qaida control. Homosexuality is a crime in Yemen.

Also on Tuesday, the security director of Aden province, Najib Al Moughlis, said that two soldiers were killed in a firefight between security forces and unknown attackers.

Nigerian Islamic Court Puts 11 Men Accused of Being Gay On Trial…

An Islamic court in Nigeria’s northern state of Bauchi has put on trial 11 Muslim men accused of being homosexuals in violation of their religion, a religious leader has told the BBC.

A 12th person arrested – a Christian – would be tried under secular law, a BBC reporter says.

Under Islamic law, a person can be sentenced to death by stoning if convicted of homosexuality.

It is also illegal to have gay sex in Nigeria, according to its secular laws.

Earlier this month, President Goodluck Jonathan signed a parliamentary bill which tightens laws against homosexuals, banning same-sex marriages, gay groups and shows of same-sex public affection.

The new legislation applies across Nigeria, affecting all citizens.

Most states in the predominantly Muslim north of Nigeria have adopted Islamic law, known as Sharia, since the end of military rule in 1999.

Nigerian Islamic Court Convicts Man of Being Gay, Lashes Him 20 Times…

BAUCHI, Nigeria (AP) — A young man convicted of sodomy was whipped 20 times Thursday in a northern Nigerian Shariah court.

Though Mubarak Ibrahim was found guilty under Shariah law, it is the first conviction of a gay man in Nigeria since President Goodluck Jonathan signed a bill that further criminalizes homosexuality under the West African nation’s Western-style penal code.

Activists believe the new law has whipped up homophobia and endangers gay people in a country where lynchings and mob justice are common.

But the Muslim Rights Concern group on Thursday said it was “the other way round as the practice of homosexualism and lesbianism is most capable of instigating widespread hatred and turning society upside down.”

Obama Regime Lets Muslim Leader Who Preaches Killing Gays, Jews Into U.S. To Raise Money For Islamist Militias In Syria

Even as the Obama administration denounced what it called anti-gay legislation in Arizona and the president sat out the Sochi Olympics because of Russia’s crackdown on same-sex couples, the State Department allowed an Islamic preacher who called for the death penalty for homosexuals into the country for a tour of hate.

Sheikh Mohammad Rateb al-Nabulsi was issued a visa for a 17-city tour of US mosques to raise money and support for the Syrian uprising. He arrived New Year’s Day.

The radical Syrian cleric has made no secret of his virulent anti-gay views. Appearing April 28, 2011, on al Aqsa TV, the official network of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza, al-Nabulsi said: “Homosexuality involves a filthy place and does not generate offspring. Homosexuality leads to the destruction of the homosexual. That is why, brothers, homosexuality carries the death penalty.”

Top Egyptian Islamist Party Says New Constitution “Promotes Incest And Homosexuality”…

Jama’a al-Islamiya has accused the 50-member constitutional committee of launching a war aimed at eliminating Islam, pointing to proposed amendments to Article 3 of the Egyptian Constitution.

The article stipulates: “For Egyptian Christians and Jews, the principles of their religious law will be the main source in regulating their personal status, matters pertaining to their religion, and the selection of their spiritual leadership.”

Toying with this article, and therefore giving freedoms to the laws of non-Islamic faiths without specifying details, could lead to permissive behaviour in Egypt like approving incest or same sex marriages, Jama’a al-Islamiya claimed in a statement acquired by Egypt Independent.

The group said the suggested article would give freedoms to domestic laws for atheistic, pornographic or Satanist groups. It therefore represents an attack on the religious and ethical values of Egypt, the Jama’a al-Islamiya statement claimed.

Jama’a al-Islamiya described the amendment to Article Three as “catastrophic.”

Bangladesh Accuses Country’s Only Nobel Prize Winner Of Being “Un-Islamic,” Spreading Homosexuality, An “Accomplice of Jews And Christians”…

After being accused of “sucking blood” from the poor, Bangladesh’s only Nobel prize winner Muhammad Yunus faces a new state-backed hate campaign seeking to paint him as un-Islamic and a spreader of homosexuality.

Following years of attempts to discredit his legacy as a pioneer of micro-finance – since copied the world over as a development tool – the hounding has turned more personal and dangerous.

The perceived crime of the 73-year-old was to sign a joint statement along with three other Nobel laureates in April 2012 criticising the prosecution of gay people in Uganda.

Little remarked at the time, it has since been seized on by the Islamic Foundation, a government religious body, and amplified through tens of thousands of imams on its payrolls.

Protests have been held, leaflets calling him “an accomplice of Jews and Christians” have been distributed, and a “grand rally” has been called for October 31 in the capital Dhaka to denounce him.

“How can a state-run organisation run a campaign of criminal intimidation? It’ll instigate violence against professor Yunus,” Sara Hossain, a top lawyer and rights activist, warned in an interview with AFP.

Kyrgyzstan’s Grand Mufti Issues Fatwa Declaring Homosexuality Un-Islamic…

BISHKEK — Kyrgyzstan’s acting grand mufti, Maksat Hajji Toktomushev, has issued a fatwa against same-sex relations and challenged the findings of a new report by Human Rights Watch (HRW).

In a statement placed on the Kyrgyz Muslims’ Spiritual Directorate website on January 30, Toktomushev said Islam absolutely forbids same-sex relations.

Homosexuality was decriminalized in Kyrgyzstan in 1998.

Responding to a January 29 HRW report on the treatment of homosexuals by Kyrgyz police, Toktomushev called on Kyrgyz authorities and the parliament “to pay special attention to the activities of some public organizations that disseminate social discord while using humanistic ideas.”

In its report, HRW found that police in Kyrgyzstan have extorted, threatened, arbitrarily detained, beaten, and sexually abused gay and bisexual men.

The report called on Kyrgyzstan to protect its gay citizens.

Saudi Arabia’s Top Islamic Authority Warns There Will Be “No More Virgins” And People Will Turn Gay If Ban On Females Driving Is Lifted…

(Daily Mail) — Repealing a ban on women drivers in Saudi Arabia would result in ‘no more virgins’, the country’s religious council has warned.

A ‘scientific’ report claims relaxing the ban would also see more Saudis — both men and women — turn to homosexuality and pornography.

The startling conclusions were drawn by Muslim scholars at the Majlis al-Ifta’ al-A’ala, Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, working in conjunction with Kamal Subhi, a former professor at the King Fahd University.

Their report assessed the possible impact of repealing the ban in Saudi Arabia, the only country in the world where women are not allowed behind the wheel.

It was delivered to all 150 members of the Shura Council, the country’s legislative body.

The report warns that allowing women to drive would ‘provoke a surge in prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce’.

Within ten years of the ban being lifted, the report’s authors claim, there would be ‘no more virgins’ in the Islamic kingdom.

And it pointed out ‘moral decline’ could already be seen in other Muslim countries where women are allowed to drive.

Indonesian City Seeks To Implement Strict Sharia Law, Establish Saudi-Style Islamic Morality Police Force…

The Indonesian city of Tasikmalaya in West Java is seeking to implement controversial Sharia based laws which would make it compulsory for all Muslim women in the city to wear headscarfs and criminalise homosexuality.

Homosexuality is not an offence under Indonesia’s national laws. However many local government areas within the country have sought to ban it by including it in local public morality laws.

The Tasikmalaya law was originally passed by councillors from Islamic parties in 2009 but city officials have taken until now to develop the regulations needed to implement it.

The law also outlaws adultery, pornography and the consumption of alcohol within the municipality’s borders.

Tasikmalaya city secretary Tio Indra Setiadi told OnIslam.net that the city would set up a squad of Sharia police to enforce the law like those already operating in Indonesia’s autonomous province of Aceh.

“This bylaw is intended mainly to educate people to live in accordance with Islamic teachings,” Setiadi said.

“[But] people intending to report violations of the bylaw will face difficulties if we don’t have an apparatus to enforce it.”

As Obama Prepares To Visit Saudi Arabia, Textbooks There Continue To Teach Students Gays Should Be Executed By Fire, Stoning, Or Thrown From High Place…

President Obama is set to visit Saudi Arabia this Friday for discussions with Saudi officials focusing on regional developments and repairing the strained relations between the U.S. and the Kingdom. It is unclear whether the president will raise concerns about Saudi Arabia’s controversial educational curriculum. Saudi textbooks help propagate jihadist ideology and are distributed around the globe.

A new FDD report reveals that the State Department has declined to release a taxpayer-funded study on Saudi textbooks submitted to the Department in 2012. The Saudi Ministry of Education continues to allow dangerous and deeply offensive material to appear in Saudi Arabia’s textbooks for the 2013-2014 school year.

For example, a twelfth grade textbook on Quranic interpretation professes that “treachery, betrayal, and the denunciation of covenants” are among the attributes of the Jews. The anti-Semitic libel “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” is presented as historical fact in a tenth grade textbook on Hadith and Islamic Culture.

A book from the same series for the eleventh grade teaches that cosmopolitan universities in the Middle East such as the American Universities in Beirut and Cairo are examples of a modern-day crusade by Christians against Islam.

Homosexuals fare even worse in Saudi Arabia’s educational materials. A tenth grade textbook on jurisprudence states that the punishment for homosexuality is death. The text goes on to suggest that the most important debate about homosexuals is how best to execute them, including death by fire, stoning, or being thrown from a high place.

A twelfth grade monotheism textbook asserts that the punishment for conversion away from Islam is execution. If the apostate does not repent, “it is incumbent upon the ruler to kill him,” the text reads. The book also argues that authorities can forcibly separate an apostate from his or her spouse and confiscate their property.

Muslim Cleric: 'In an Ideal Society We Would Punish Homosexuals'

The Chairman of the Islamic Centre in Luton believes gay people would be punished in an ideal world of Britain resembling an Islamic state.

Abdul Qadeer Baksh made the remarks last Wednesday during a radio interview on BBC Three Counties alongside the former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson.

Mr Baksh stated “In an ideal society” there would be “punishments for homosexuals”. Whilst stressing that it was unlikely Britain would ever adopt Sharia law, he indicated that his personal preference would be to live in a society that followed the code – with no acceptance of homosexuality.

“When I say ‘ideal society’ I mean Islamic society, not a western secular society like we live in here.” He continued: “Every moderate Muslim holds this view as well.” Mr Baksh added: “[Britain] is far from an Islamic state”.
“What I would like to see is peace and tranquillity, all of us to get on together. If Sharia came to this country it would only come by the people’s desire for it”.

Mr Baksh then said: “I spoke to a moderate gay Muslim, we differed and that was the end of the matter.”

He added that in Saudi Arabia “very, very few hands are chopped off” or “women lashed” and the laws are mainly a deterrent.
Tommy Robinson (real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) dramatically quit the EDL last week saying he had concerns over the “dangers of far-right extremism”. Known for making anti-Islamic remarks, after launching the group in 2009, he complained of town centres “plagued by Islamic extremists”.

Mr Robinson’s decision to leave the EDL followed discussions with the Quilliam group, which describes itself as a “counter-extremism think tank”. Quilliam is made up of Islamic clerics, who claim they have renounced extremism.

Obama Slaps Sanctions On Uganda For “Vile” Anti-Gay Laws, Saudi Arabia Given A Free Pass To Execute Homosexuals…

The United States Thursday slapped sanctions on Uganda — cancelling a military air exercise, imposing visa bans and freezing some aid — amid deep US anger at “vile” Ugandan anti-gay laws.

The legislation “runs counter to universal human rights and complicates our bilateral relationship,” the White House said, renewing calls for the law to be repealed.

Signed by President Yoweri Museveni in February, the law calls for “repeat homosexuals” to be jailed for life, outlaws the promotion of homosexuality and obliges Ugandans to denounce gays to the authorities.

Norwegian Islamic Leader Fahad Qureshi: "All Muslims Believe in the Death Penalty for Homosexuals"

Transcript:

Fahad Qureshi: Every now and then, every time we have a conference, every time we invite a speaker, [the media] always comes with the same accusations: This speaker supports the death penalty for homosexuals, this speaker supports the death penalty for this crime or that crime, that he is homophobic, that he subjugates women... It's the same old stuff coming all of the time.

We always try to tell them... I always try to tell them that it is not that speaker that we are inviting who has these "extreme radical views," as you say. These are general views that every Muslim actually has. Every Muslim believes in these things. Just because they are not telling you about it, or just because they are not out there in the media, doesn't mean that they don't believe in them.

I will ask you, everyone in the room: How many of you are normal Muslims – not extremists, not radical – just normal Sunni Muslims? Please, raise your hands. Everybody, with the grace of God. Okay, take down your hands.

How many of you agree that men and women should sit separately? Please raise your hands. Everyone agrees, brothers as well as sisters. So it's not just these "radical" sheiks, then?

Next question: How many of you agree that the punishments described in the Koran and the Sunna – whether it is death, whether it is stoning for adultery, whatever it is... If it is from Allah and His Messenger, that is the best punishment ever possible for humankind, and that is what we should apply in the world. Who agrees with that?

Allah Akbar. Are you all radical extremists? So all of you are saying that you are common Muslims, you all go to different mosques in Norway... Or are you a specific sect, like the Islam Net sect, or anything like that? Are you like that? No. Are you like that? Please raise your hand if you are like that extreme Islam, that sect, or anything like that? No one, Allah Akbar.

How many of you go to the normal Sunni mosques in Norway? Please raise your hands. Allah Akbar. What are the politicians going to say now? What is the media going to say now? That we are all extremists? That we are all radicals? That we all need to be deported from this country?

Kuwait mulls screening workers for homosexuality -- it's a "Sharia duty"

After a Kuwaiti official said the country may start using routine health screenings to detect homosexuality in expatriates seeking entry, Kuwaiti authorities announced their intention to increase enforcement of anti-gay legislation in both Kuwait and the Gulf countries.

For starters, Kuwaiti authorities are planning to propose a law mandating that foreign workers seeking to enter all Gulf states be required to pass a sexual orientation examination in addition to the standard medical examination.

Those found to be homosexual would be denied entry, according to a report by MEMRI.

Amnesty International condemned the proposal, urging Kuwait and the Gulf states to refrain from passing discriminatory legislation.

The Kuwaiti press also criticized the proposal, through parliamentarians were said to support it.

“The decision to prevent homosexuals from entering is good, and helps eliminate foreign phenomena in our society,” MEMRI quoted Kuwaiti MP Hussein Qawi’an as saying.

Another MP, Khalil al-Saleh, reportedly described the proposal as “preserving moral values and setting a boundary for this phenomenon, which is unacceptable in most societies.”

He added that the move did not limit personal liberty, but enforced moral and cultural norms.

A third parliamentarian, Sa’ud al-Hariji, said the proposal was “a sharia duty,” while a fourth, Hamoud al-Hamdan, said it protected Gulf societies against diseases brought by foreign workers who engage in “immoral practices.”

In Kuwait, convicted homosexuals under 21 may be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison. In August, the Kuwaiti parliament appointed a special committee to discuss “negative social phenomena,” chiefly homosexuality, which was described as “a sick phenomenon” that requires treatment, supervision, and even punishment.

Oxfam's Trusted Mosque Supplies Speaker Calling for Death of Apostates and Gays

Oxfam has cancelled an exhibition which was due to take place on Friday after Left Foot Forward presented information to the charity detailing homophobic and potentially anti-semitic comments made by one of the organisers.
Gaza Oxfam-JPEGThe ‘Gaza: Through my Eyes’ exhibition was due to be hosted by Oxfam and Ibrahim Hewitt, a trustee of the Hamas-linked organisation Interpal who has called for the punishment of apostates and homosexuals.
Mr Hewitt has previously referred to the “so-called Holocaust” and has written that homosexuals would suffer “severe punishments” in an Islamic state for their “great sin”.
The event was scheduled to take place at the East London Mosque, notorious for hosting a number of extremist speakers.
Speaking to Left Foot Forward, Oxfam said it was “strongly committed to upholding universal human rights” and would therefore be cancelling the event.

Nigeria: Protesters throw stones, disrupt Sharia court holding gay trial with demands for immediate execution

BAUCHI, Nigeria (AP) — Thousands of protesters threw stones into the Shariah court in a north Nigerian city Wednesday, urging the speedy convictions and executions of 11 men arrested for belonging to gay organizations.

Security officials fired into the air to disperse protesters in Bauchi city so the accused men could be safely returned to the prison. Judge El-Yakubu Aliyu closed the court abruptly.

“No one can be sentenced to death until confirmed without a reasonable doubt,” Aliyu said in response to calls for the men’s execution.

The court was arraigning seven of 11 accused men on Wednesday. Only three had given testimony when the mayhem began.

The defense counsel was unable to submit an application for bail, and the rest of the defendants were unable to give testimony. It was unclear when the arraignments would resume.

The same court last week convicted a young man of sodomy and had him publicly whipped with 20 lashes, and fined before being freed. The court said it was lenient, sparing him the sentence of death by stoning, as he had confessed to one instance of sodomy many years ago and had not committed any homosexual acts since.

Though he was tried under Islamic law, his was the first conviction of a gay man in Nigeria since the president signed a bill that further criminalizes homosexuality under the penal code. He was among 12 arrested in Bauchi the past few weeks.

The Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act that President Goodluck Jonathan signed on Jan. 7 has resulted in a frenzy of arrests of gays. The law bans all gay associations, with penalties up to 14 years’ imprisonment for marriage.

Bauchi state has both a Western-style penal code and Shariah, or Islamic law, in which sodomy can carry the death sentence with a judge deciding whether it should be done by a public stoning or by lethal injection. Shariah law is implemented to different degrees in nine of Nigeria’s 36 states. About half of the country’s more than 160 million people are Muslims, the other half Christians.

Two Homosexuals Executed for Crime of 'Perversion'

Iran Executes Two for ‘Perversion’

Third dealt death sentence for ‘insulting the prophet’

Iran executed two gay men on Sunday for the crime of “perversion” and has sentenced a third individual to death for “insulting the prophet,” according to human rights activists tracking the situation.

The head of Iran’s judiciary department in the northern city of Rasht announced on Sunday that two homosexual men had been executed for “perversion,” which is considered a severe crime under Iran’s hardline Islamic law.

The executions come less than two months after Iranian authorities publicly hanged 40 individuals in a two-week period. Iran is executing at least two people a day, according to activists.

Executions in Iran have surged over the past year with well more than 500 being killed for crimes ranging from “waging war against God” to misdemeanor drug charges that would carry minimal penalties in Western countries.

State-sanctioned killings have spiked since the election of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who initially vowed to address the issue.

Not much is known about the two men executed over the weekend due to Iranian efforts to sweep such executions under the rug, according to Banafsheh Zand, an Iranian political and human rights activist.

The two men had been held in central prison near Rasht before being killed. The crime of “perversion” is a cover-all under Iran’s hardline brand of Sharia law and typically accounts for offenses that are seen as going “against morality,” according to Zand.

The Iranian Judiciary also upheld the death sentence for a 34-year-old man who was arrested at his home and charged with “insulting the Prophet.”

Rouhollah Tavana was seized by authorities in 2011.

UAE: Court upholds men’s 6-month jail term for ‘sodomy’

A court in the United Arab Emirates has upheld a six month jail term handed to two men who are alleged to have had sex.

State-run newspaper The National is reporting that the Federal Supreme Court has upheld a sentence against the two men, who had previously been convicted of intentionally committing acts of ‘sodomy’.

According to the paper, the prosecution reports said there was ‘forensic evidence’ that the men had sex.

The unnamed men, who are both Muslim, told the court they contest the claims, and say they were coerced by police into confessing to the crime.
They will face deportation after serving their sentence.

Homosexuality is strongly criminalised in the UAE, and carries penalties ranging from a month in prison to the death penalty.

Brunei's new law permits stoning gay people to death

– Rupert Colville, spokesperson for the Office of the UN High Comissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). He continued, “Application of the death penalty for such a broad range of offenses contravenes international law.” The statement was made in response to Brunei’s new penal code, which permits the punishment of death by stoning for a range of offences, including same-sex sexual relationships, adultery, rape, extramarital affairs and publicly declaring oneself to be non-Muslim. Brunei, which has a majority Muslim population and is phasing in Sharia law, previously had a 10-year prison sentence as the maximum punishment for sex between persons of the same gender.

Indian gay student granted asylum in Australia

The 25-year-old commerce graduate, who lives with his boyfriend in New South Wales (NSW), was granted asylum by Australia’s Refugee Review Tribunal, The Australian reported Wednesday.

He arrived on a student visa in March 2009 to study for a diploma in business management but withdrew from the course after six months.
When the man last returned to his home city of Hyderabad in India in 2011, he claimed that his father locked him in a bedroom and pressured him to enter into an arranged marriage.

He alleged that his male cousins also assaulted him, twisting his nose and holding a knife against his throat. The student claimed that he was also threatened by a local Islamic cleric.

The student escaped his family home with the help of a female friend. He hid in her house until he got a return ticket to reach Australia, the report said.

Australia’s immigration department in July 2012 accepted that the asylum-seeker was homosexual but rejected the claim that the mistreatment amounted to persecution.

It also observed that he could safely move to another Indian city to escape danger.

The Refugee Review Tribunal ruled that if he returned to Hyderabad it was “reasonable to believe he would be assaulted and probably forced to marry, and if he were to refuse he would probably face more serious harm and be killed”.

“If the applicant were to return and try to relocate, this would result in his being disowned by his family and probably they would seek to find and harm him,” the tribunal found.

“I also accept that he would not be able to live openly as a homosexual in India at any location as, if he did, this would result in ostracism and probable further significant harm,” the tribunal observed.

The man, a devout Muslim, believed that Allah was “his protector”, the tribunal heard.

It also heard that the man and his partner, whom he met a day after arriving in Australia, registered to marry in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

“We are committed to be together for life… the law in Australia treats everyone as equal,” his boyfriend told the tribunal.

Britain Set to Deport Lesbian with Sharia Death Sentence

Aderonke Apata is a gay Nigerian woman, who is seeking asylum in Britain for fear that if she is sent back to Nigeria, she will be tortured because of Nigeria’s anti-gay laws.

The Home Office in Britain turned her down, after persuading the office that she is homosexual. She sent letters from girlfriends in Nigeria and Britain as well as supporting documents from friends.

According to The Independent UK, Apata, 47, will hand in petition to the Home Secretary Theresa May, demanding that deportation of all LGBT asylum seekers is halted until a review of their treatment is concluded.

She tells the publication her ordeal. “I was asked to bring my supporting documents for my judicial review for the court to look at. What evidence do we have to compile apart from letters from people? I knew we had a home video of ourselves, so I thought why not just put it in? I cannot afford to go back to my county where I will be tortured, so if I have to prove it with a sexual video, then I have to do it.

I feel so bad it’s got to this stage. It’s such a desperate and precarious situation to be in, very dangerous, because anything could happen to those pictures, those videos.”

In 2004, when Apata came to Britain, her asylum was on religious grounds. She claims she comes from a Christian family, but married a Muslim man to cover up her long term affections for women.

The man’s family suspected she was gay and turned against her. She says she was taken to a Sharia court, where she was sentenced to death for adultery.

Apata ran away and went into hiding after two appeals for asylum were rejected. She says she lived on the streets of Manchester for fear of being deported.

She was caught in 2012 working with a fake visa as a care manager. Her latest asylum claim that she may be tortured if she returns to Nigeria, was rejected. Nigeria currently has 14 years imprisonment sentence for gays, and her ex was killed in 2012 in a mob attack.

Her petition halting her deportation presently has over 230,000 signatures.

“I want sanctuary. I just want to be protected. I want to be who I am” Apata who was recently hospitalised for post-traumatic stress, says as a judicial review has been granted in her case.

SEATTLE: Muslim convert uses Gay app to hook up with and murder homosexuals with Islamic names

After undergoing jihadist training in California, Ali Muhammad Brown, 30, found his victims by using ‘Grindr’ – an application popular among Gays for hooking up. Following his Islamic faith which calls for executing homosexuals, Brown murdered Ahmed Said, 27, and Dwone Anderson-Young, 23, in cold blood.

Detectives say Said was shot multiple times in the face at close range and also in the back, as was Anderson-Young. There was no evidence of a struggle, the victims were not armed, and there`s no evidence it was motivated by robbery, drugs or any other crime. While no motive has been listed in the charges against Brown, police believe the two men were attacked simply because their sexual orientation offended Brown’s Muslim beliefs.

In the charging documents, police said they linked Brown to the slayings after finding his fingerprints and three spent 9mm shell casings inside Said’s car.

Extremists threaten mutilation and death for seized ‘homosexuals’

Extremists say they will execute a dozen men alleged to be homosexuals, following their arrest last Thursday at a private party in Tripoli’s Ain Zara district.

A body calling itself the ‘Private Deterrent Force’, which is believed to be part of the extremist Nawasi brigade, one of Tripoli’s largest militias, has posted images of the men on their Facebook page. One picture (above) shows them, heads covered, standing with their hands against a wall.

At the time of writing, the picture had received 315 ‘likes’ and had received comments such as “flog them hard”, “lets see the bullets”, and “ride them like camels”.

Accompanying text describes the men as “the third sex”, a reference to their sexuality.

The Nawasi brigade has previously been linked to the desecration of Sufi shrines in Tripoli and claims to be under the authority of the Ministry of Interior.

Militia accused of kidnapping, beating and killing 40 Iraqis perceived as ‘gay’ or ‘too masculine or feminine.’

International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) says it has been told by Iraqi human rights activists that the renewed targeting started in early February this year.

An unidentified group posted death threats against ‘the adulterous individuals’ in the predominantly Shiite neighborhoods of Baghdad and Basra. The threats gave the individuals, whose names and ages were listed, four days to stop their behavior or else face the ‘wrath of god’.

Sources inside Iraq say this new surge of anti-gay violence has seen close to 40 people kidnapped, brutally tortured and murdered. IGLHCR say the Iraqi authorities have neither responded to this targeted violence nor have they publicly denounced it. It is widely believed that these atrocities are being committed by a group of the Shiite militia.

According to Iraqi LGBT, since the US invasion of 2003 over 750 LGBT people were reported murdered in Iraq, many of them due to so called ‘honor killings’.

Bissam, an independent Iraqi LGBT activist, who was forced himself to flee the country and now lives in exile said: ‘This is happening all the time. ‘I had a confirmed report in October 2011 from a gay young man who lives in Baghdad, his name is Haider, that Almehdi militia are threatening that they are coming back and they will kill gays.

According to Bissam this most frequently happening in central Iraq ‘but happens everywhere there, I don’t know about north of Iraq, but when I was in Sulaimania, one of the three big cities in north Iraq, I saw young men who looked very feminine being harassed and the arrested.’

The situation is getting increasingly worse reports Bissam who claims the prime minister, Nouri Al-Maliki, ‘supported by the USA and Iran,’ knows about the incidents. He claims Al-Maliki has actively campaigned for countries to repatriate Iraqi refugees fleeing such violence who ‘were detained at the airport and beaten and god knows what happens to them later’.

‘We all want to speak, put some pressure on Al-Maliki government. But the question is how? Because he knows and supports all these actions against the Iraqi LGBT, in particular and Sunna in general. Working against these people needs lots of support and real plan.’

Cary Alan Johnson, the executive director of IGLHRC said the Iraqi government must rise to its obligations as a sovereign democratic country. ‘As such, it must protect all of its citizens including lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from hate-filled violence and death at the hands of armed militias,’ he said.

‘Vigilantes who perpetuate the targeted killing of those perceived to be gay or lesbian must not be tolerated in a new Iraq. We have seen these atrocities before.

‘In 2009 vigilantes murdered hundreds of Iraqi individuals for their perceived sexual orientation.

Islamic Scholar: “Homosexuality is an anal disease, a well-known medical condition, which can only be ‘calmed down’ by semen”

“A worm grows inside someone who, God forbid, has been anally penetrated, and causes a disease which makes him addicted to anal sex. But, inshallah, Allah protects newborn Shiites from this ‘gay’ devil.”

Here’s how it works according to the ‘scholar’ – “If a newborn boy is not a Shiite, the devil inserts a finger into the anus of the baby, which turns him into a ‘passive’ homosexual when he grows up. If a newborn girl is not a Shiite, the devil inserts a finger into her vagina, which turns her into a whore when she grows up.” He also outs the King of Morocco and Afghan Taliban leader, Mullah Omar, as ‘passive’ homosexuals.

+1. I also thought about this when I saw two threads. Is this religious problem? NO OFFENSE: You know, some hates some religion and they will do whatever they can to make it bad. So is that because of this or are you just sharing something? ??? If it is sharing, then please look the side-affects of homosexuality and try to post that too. Whoa... this is troublesome. How they are going to determine who is masculine and who is feminine? I have heard that in Pakistan those males without a beard are considered to be "feminine". Do they follow the same procedure in Iraq? And what is the problem with the guys who are "too masculine"? Do the militia members feel insecure in front of them?

Egyptian police use dating sites to hunt down gay people

Though homosexuality is not illegal in Egypt, police have been using social media and smartphone applications to hunt down and arrest gays and lesbians. Two gay Egyptians, who hide their sexuality and live in fear of being arrested, tell us their story.

A week ago, seven men were arrested after they appeared in a video showing a marriage ceremony between two men. The footage showed a gay couple exchanging vows and rings under a traditional canopy on a boat on the Nile, in the presence of a small group of friends. The footage was shared across social media and was picked up by the local press, who condemned this ceremony.

At the beginning of the week, the public prosecutor’s office ordered the two men featured in the ceremony to undergo “medical tests” that were supposed to be able to determine if they were homosexual. However, after the men were “tested,” the authorities admitted that the results showed that they had not engaged in homosexual relations.

Homosexuality is not illegal in Egypt. Despite this, numerous people have been arrested while taking part in festivities celebrating gay unions and accused of “debauchery.” In May, for example, four men were arrested during a party organised in Nasr City, located east of Cairo. One of them was sentenced to 12 years of prison, the heaviest sentence ever given to an LGBT person in Egypt.

According to accounts given by numerous witnesses, police are using gay online dating sites, such as Grindr, to hunt down LGBT people. Egyptian gay rights activists have published numerous messages warning members of the community to refrain from using these applications.

According to several gay rights activists, at least 77 LGBT people have been arrested since October 2013.

Province In “Moderate” Muslim Indonesia Proposes 100 Lashes For Gay Sex…

Gay sex could be punishable by 100 lashes of the cane in Indonesia’s staunchly conservative Aceh province if parliament passes a draft law that critics say violates basic human rights.

Aceh is the only part of the world’s biggest Muslim-majority nation to enforce Islamic sharia law and has been slowly implementing it since 2001, when it gained some powers of autonomy.

A draft bylaw sent to AFP on Saturday outlaws anal sex between men and “the rubbing of body parts between women for stimulation”, and for the first time applies Islamic laws and punishments to non-Muslims.

The bylaw also punishes adultery with 100 lashes of the cane.

The bylaw reinforces previous sharia legislation that bans alcohol consumption, gambling, fraternising between unmarried men and women, and physical displays of affection outside of marriage, such as touching and kissing.
