I do see different services coming up, totally seperate from the bitcoin core but nothing to do with the core devs and advancements of bitcoin, in regards to Bitcoin Core 0.9.2.1 have they been working on other versions? You know the number one rule when making updates and development ? Don't repair what is not broken. As for the altcoins , it's just hype , services used more to hype the coins that being used by real people. For every one shop that accept one lame coin there are ten who accept bitcoin.
