Title: Beware of the paypal "friends and fammily/gift"
Post by: Penner on September 14, 2014, 11:53:02 AM
A lot newbies in this forum are trying to buy bitcoins via paypal and tell you they will send it as "fammily and friends" or gift option so it's safe and can not be reversed.

They just try to fool you by this do not belive it paypal can reversed even after 3 months.

I am sick of this scumbags that tries to scam via paypal and tell you such stories

I will bump this each 24h to make sure it will be visible.

NOTE

Only very high trusted users could help to sell/buy via paypal

I think most people know paypal can be reversed whatever way you send it. Not only can paypal reverse the payment but you can also get your credit card company to do the same.

penner and i learnt this the hard way. i sent him around $2,500 and paypal decided to hold on to the money. paypal is such a pain in the ASS
especially when BOTH sides are stressed about being scammed.
just waiting on penners coins to hit my bitcoin wallet now, hopefully it doesnt take too long so that i can eventually write that hes a trusted source.

So wait you sent him $2500 and he's a newbie? Dude you're fucked 99% sure. Congrats you got scammed. Can easily cash that out via online credit card as we speak. USE ESCROW. easy way of scammers to make themselves sound like a hero to earn your trust.

Either you get scammed or you're a fake account of the OP.

if anybody on here knows how to upload photos i have full proof of full conversation as well as paypal transaction ID and emails.
he also sent me a photo of his id which is most probably fake.

i emailed paypal as my claim was rejected.
i will be reporting him to paypal, skype and if admin see this then i will forward them full conversation and anything else they request.

LOL. What a great start to the day! Just fyi, funds will be off the account in a mere hour or hours if you're lucky. Better start making phone calls quick. Have to give it to the OP nice "hero status" to get a newbie. Fucked up though.

Not talking about claims, talking about the scammer cashing out. Paypal won't dare reverse a friends family payment that isn't a CC chargeback if the receiver has cashed out the funds already

I quoted the wrong message.

I can confirm they are the same person, essentially.

MrImport sent me a so called transaction receipt to this guy, which has the time listed as 2 1/2 hours ago, they apparently only dealt an hour ago.

Also the currency conversion is way off on his receipt, compared to CURRENT conversion rates.

Using Escrow for paypal means that you are dragging someone else to danger. I suggest not to do any PP trade unless he is trusted.

This is why, users say not to use Paypal and beware of the trades. Try not to sent money to persons who aren't trusted.

Thanks a lot for pointing this out. I was not aware that payments to friends/family can also be reversed.  Might have fallen for a scam sometime, if I did not see this.
