I go to a heaven with beer volcanoes and striper factories, thanks to The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, that has brought my soul into salvation.

That's why people made up an afterlife story in the first place. No one can get their head around not existing, and people hate to see their loved ones die. Solution? Superstition to the rescue!

Arrogant to claim there is or there isn't. No one knows for sure.

I personally hope there is some sort of afterlife, so that there can be justice for all the evil in the world.

If I don't exist anymore, then there will be no problem.

Problem will be I die and wake up in a worse reality

That's a great way to put it. A great quote I like to refer to when anyone brings up the inevitable is one by Mark Twain--"I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." When you die, you won't even know you are dead. My personal belief is that as an individual I am dead but as a human collective, I am alive. As long as there are humans on the planet, a part of my DNA will be around and that is enough to make me happy. Who knows what they will be able to do thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions of years from now. Reactivate all of humanity's thought patterns in a hologram? Better hope you accomplish something great in the eyes of human scientists eons from now to deserve that kind of second coming though. Find the cure for cancer is where I'd start. They would want to re-animate you and ask you how you managed to do it with such primitive technology.

I dont believe in religious afterlife. But dont be so frightened, if you are young, there is chance that you wont die thanks to technology..is 21st century, right? maybe in next 50 years it will be possible to transfer human personality into harddrive, and keep it alive on some hardware in form of program. it comes down, if neurocybernetics will be far enough to map and preserve humen concious. But it is not that unrealistic as it seems ;)

My opinion about the afterlife is quite easy. I will see what it holds for me once I'm death. I don't waste time thinking about it, if I die I die and what happens after that happens then. Death doesn't scare me and it never will.

Existence is eternal.  None existence does not exist.

You always have and always will.

I do not believe in life after death.  Those two terms are inherently contradictory.

You are not your body.  Have you ever had a dream?

Your ability to dream doesn't mean you are separate from your body. It just means that your body, in this case your mind, never shuts down completely.

Shouldn't you do good things because you believe that is beneficial to others and maybe you on the long term? Believing in an after-life should have nothing to do with it.

I believed in religion, there are two kinds of goodness in my religion, welfare to other people and God.  Praying is one of welfare to God.

I do not believe that the experience that after we die we will be different from
the experience we had before we were born.

There is life after death because It's a perfect system not just a lottery. We can see that everybody born different way, some in slums while others are in bungalows. Some are born sick while some healthy. All this must have to do with our past life doings otherwise why would some people suffer without any reason while others are having fun?

For life after that there is no hard evidence.
So, this is mostly question of faith, not logic or science.
If you are believer, you believe in life after that.
If not, you don't believe.
It's simple like that :)

Must there be a reason for these things? Can't it be that the world is just independent of our rationalizations of it? To me, that line of thinking tends to lead people to being complacent, instead of actually trying to change the world around them for the better. Life is unfair. It has always been. But those that see it for what it is can help do something about it.

Your sense of self is a genetically induced survival mechanism - it's total purpose is to encourage you to put every effort into your own survival.
Once you die the self ceases to have any purpose, since it's only purpose was the pursuit of genetic survival.

Dreams are other dimensions.  You are a multidimensional being.  You are only having a human experience.

If there is an afterlife, don't you think it'll be very boring? Can't imagine living an eternal life ::)
And, no. I don't believe in afterlife. I like the idea that we are here for a limited time, our lives will ended in some point, and not to be reincarnated or living an afterlife. It makes me appreciate my life even more, you only live once, so don't waste it :)

If I am a figment of a thought, memory, or subconscious, I am alive.
