Title: Newegg: Sapphire OC Edition 2GB 6950, $184 shipped (qty2-5)

If you live in the States, Newegg has 6950's on for a great price right now.

In QTY2+ they're only $230, but use promo code EMCYTZT1523 to drop them down to $184. They even have free shipping and a Dirt3 code.

They might use more power, but I have a flashed 6950 happily mining at 400MH/s. For something with a higher resale to gamers than a 5870 and a full warranty, it's a pretty nice price.

Great for me since I have low power costs.  Thanks!

Worked out great for me.  I picked up 4, sold the Dirt games and got them for about $180 each, shipped.

The shaders are not unlock-able, as expected with newer cards.  I have them running at 850/725 core/mem and am getting 345Mh/s.

Do you think it would be worthwhile to flash the bios in order to downclock that memory more?  My power is pretty cheap (.048) but Im still interested in shaving off the watts.

yes you want to underclock the memory if at all possible. Try bios flashing. High memory = big increase in watts with a reduction in mhash.

You should be able to get better results than that. I have my 1GB unlocked 6950s running at 850MHz and I get 380MH/s

Thats probably because you were able to unlock shaders right?

Any tips on where to get an appropriate BIOS?

Thx guys!

Aren't yours? I thought you said they were unlockable. I used Wizard's script and RBE to mod mine.

Whoops, I meant they are not.

I'll google for "Wizard's script and RBE" thanks!

That doesn't look like a reference design, so it it guaranteed to unlock to a 6970?

No, it wont.  I only want to flash it to lower my memory clock and save some watts.
