I have damaged a 5970 by inserting an 8pin eps cable instead of the correct 8pin pci express cable. Im looking for a reasonably priced,half dead 5970,with one core damaged or something similar. International shipping might make this too costly for you, but as there aren't many bids yet, it might be still worth it...
