Title: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: h0lybyte on September 19, 2014, 04:28:05 AM I am looking for someone that is interested in managing a minecraft server with me :)
I will also be developing custom modifications and integrating crypto (dogecoin, bitcoin, reddcoin), overall, I think it will be a great experience! If you are interested, post below, pm me, email me (admin @ kbve.com) or whatever means it takes to get the message across. I have a 16gb dedicated from OVH that I am not using with OpenVZ ready to deploy the minecraft container :P (Ports are already forward and java should be installed and ready!) All thats left currently is bukkit, plugins and then some custom work! The server wont be using crypto directly, but probably coior coins and have a manual withdrawal system, to avoid BitVegas-like problems :P If any more information is require, just pm me! I will make it an offline version and use a custom panel as a verification method :D (Its more secure than just relying on Minecraft's database to verify usernames) Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: Vortex20000 on September 19, 2014, 08:42:48 AM I program Bukkit plugins quite actively.
Please PM me! I'd be happy to contribute just for fun! :) Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: Vortex20000 on September 19, 2014, 08:44:30 AM I program Bukkit plugins quite actively. I also own a 24/7 network server (Bungee-d 8 servers or something). That could be a good platform for the server - multiple gamemodes all with crypto. Please PM me! I'd be happy to contribute just for fun! :) As I said, please PM. I've made too many posts to revisit each thread individually. Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: h0lybyte on September 19, 2014, 02:04:35 PM PM sent :)
Hopefully we can get this going :O Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: TheUntitled on September 19, 2014, 04:52:58 PM If I recall correctly, implementing CryptoCurrency in a Minecraft server is against Minecraft's rules. Most likely the server would be taken down if you release it.

Post by: DiamondCardz on September 19, 2014, 07:34:55 PM No, the EULA still applies. You can't integrate cryptocurrency as a server currency as it would be seen as a hybrid currency, unless people can ONLY withdraw the cryptocurrency and not deposit. Basically you would only be able to lose money.

I'd love for Cryptocurrency servers to come back but they just can't. The only way I can see it working is if someone made a clone of Minecraft where the same rules don't apply, but I don't think anyone has the motivation for that. Basically you would only be able to lose money. The US Supreme Court ruled Bitcoin as a virtual currency, if I remember correctly. Minecraft's EULA prohibits giving single players boosts or advantages if they spent or give the owner hard cash. So far, I'm pretty sure Bitcoin doesn't count as hard cash.Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: h0lybyte on September 21, 2014, 05:20:31 AM oh please, I will just award players in crypto for playing... and I will just make the income through Adsense.
I feel like the bigger issue right now is to establish the general community and then work it out from there. Fuck it, the first version of the server will be a faucet-like concept, hell I can just implement my moonbattle concept using factions mod. https://mojang.com/2014/06/lets-talk-server-monetisation-the-follow-up-qa/ ^ Based on that... We can still sell cosmetics and bitcoins count as hard currency. (Just wanted to clear that up). Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! So long as the server complies with the rules I'd be happy to do some building work for you, if you like. Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: h0lybyte on September 22, 2014, 02:44:45 AM The question that arises is... what if players want to sell their items?
What does the EULA say in terms of that! TheUntitled, come onto our irc :D irc.kbve.com Port: 6667 Channel #kbve or kbve.com:8080/?&channels=#kbve Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! TheUntitled, come onto our irc :D irc.kbve.com Port: 6667 Channel #kbve or kbve.com:8080/?&channels=#kbve The EULA's probably against it: as you're giving a player a perk that doesn't apply to the entire playerbase. I'll see if I can come on sometime tomorrow. :) Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: h0lybyte on September 23, 2014, 12:10:46 AM I meant more along an online exchange for all the players :P
Overall, be sure to shoot me an email :) admin @ kbve.com I want to get the ball rolling a bit faster before October comes around. Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: b!z on September 23, 2014, 01:16:01 AM I would be interested in playing :)

Post by: airpline1 on September 23, 2014, 05:53:53 AM I'm a beginner in programming, but I can be a builder and a player. I can also help you manage it, PM me
Been playing MineCraft since 2009 :D Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: h0lybyte on September 23, 2014, 07:07:04 PM Word nice to see some of you guys tagging :)
It was nice talking to you Airpline1! Update: We put up a temp server with a couple plugins (Iconomy, Essentials, ect.) We are gonna redo the server, once Vortex sends me the new map / plugins! ~~ This will be an offline server too ;P Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players! Post by: DiamondCardz on October 24, 2014, 04:51:56 PM I do develop Minecraft plugins in general but I have almost no knowledge in bitcoin-qt. If you have any ideas for some custom plugins you think that would be nice, within reason, message me and we'll work something out, but I can't build something to handle deposits/withdrawals. I'm not interested in an administration role as I own my own Minecraft server.

I've been wondering if someone might try this, and I think it's a great idea! shameless plug: See my comments about this on the Unsystem list where I mentioned the Minecraft combat handbook and other things: https://lists.dyne.org/lurker/message/20140925.160300.106da4fc.en.html Title: Re: Looking for Minecraft Developers and Builders and Casual players!
