Title: This can't be right, right? (blockchain.info)
Post by: shultzi on September 19, 2014, 03:04:52 PM
According to blockchain.info it has been more then 3 hours (!) since last block (# 321511).
It also seems as if new transactions are keep getting submitted so I guess it's not a connection failure of some sort.

That can't be right. What am I missing here?

Very strange. Has it ever happened before?

Try to look at another block explorer, everything seems normal.

Apparently they've had their problems of late -- according to posts on reddit.com/r/bitcoin (http://reddit.com/r/bitcoin)

Frequently.

The blockchain.info block explorer website seems to have some bugs that cause it to report invalid information from time to time.

I don't know about this instance, but the 10 min. block is an average, it sometimes takes much longer. There have been blocks that take longer than this in the past.

Yeah I've been waiting and waiting for a transaction I sent from elsewhere to my wallet to confirm so that I can send the bitcoin to refill my BTC faucet. I saw that it looks like the last block was #321511 according to blockchain.info, I will have to check other block explorers. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure MicroWallet (the service I use to fill my account) uses the Blockchain API to accept deposits anyways, so even if it did confirm, it won't show up when I send it to my account if Blockchain.info isn't working.

Tell MicroWallet that they should consider switching to a more reliable blockchain API or they are likely to lose users in the future since this happens on a regular basis with blockchain.info.

I have 7 transactions today, the earliest from 6 am (Pacific) that have not confirmed.  All inputs, but from different sources.  Something is way backed up.

Can you provide any transaction ID as an example?

Correct, your transaction is probably complete on the BTC network  but...
...if you are using the blockchain.info online wallet then your (inbound) funds are trapped as "unconfirmed".

Although without your transaction ID, it is impossible to say for certain.

blockchain.info is experiencing a problem, but that doesn't mean that your transaction isn't also failing to be confirmed.  Perhaps you didn't include a large enough fee?  Perhaps you included a dust output in your transaction?  Perhaps your transaction includes an unconfirmed input?

Provide the transaction ID and we can figure it out and tell you.  Otherwise all we are doing is guessing at what could be any one of a half dozen or so causes.

Just checked and it looks like it's fixed again. My stuck transaction now is showing 34 confirms.

Blockchain.info seems to be brocken again. There's maby a bug in the database that's screwing things up a little because I'm also noticing some problems lately.

Sorry - have not checked back in a while.  Everything confirmed about 2 hours ago.  Very odd, very long gap.
