If it is from Bitcoin thefts, this is the only way for them to break the identified nature of the digital currency. They aren't activated until you purchase them. And these are via a Coinstar Machine, so in order to steal them, I don't even know how I would do that. Also, how are you getting that its probable that they were stolen? Wouldn't possible be a more likely term?
Proceeds being laundered by thefts... Orrrrrr if you are under 18 and don't have a bank account you can link to Dwolla, paypal etc, its incredibly difficult to buy BTC without trading giftcards for them. But I guess you caught me, Iv been robbing banks to buy $200 in gift cards, guess I should go turn myself in.
