A Dutch company is planning on sending 4 people permanently to Mars in 2018. They chose 4 people out of 200,000 applicants. Would you apply for this? Your name would go down in the history books. There are ways to live Mars without terraforming it. Getting to Mars is very huge undertaking how more for terraforming it. The point in going to Mars is to discover new things what the rovers cannot do.
